Do you want to work alongside the brightest in the industry?We are looking for YOU to join us to ensure the reliability of the electric grid real-time operations of 20% of the North American electric grid load while on shift!If so, read on…As our **Balancing Authority and Unit Dispatch** **Operator** , you will add to your current skillset and train to become a control room operator to support reliability of the electric power grid on a 24/7 basis in a 15-state region impacting 45 million people! You will be required to successfully complete the training and certification program to become desk-qualified for the Balancing and Dispatch team. Once certified, you will work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule to ensure reliable, efficient, and compliant execution of MISO’s Dispatch and Balancing Authority (BA) functions.We are looking for talented professionals who have:• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Educational equivalency may be established with a combination of education, training, certifications and directly related experience• Demonstrated successful completion of the Oral Board and Simulation Certification for their assigned functional desk following on-the-job training, or successful post hire completion of the Oral Board and Simulation Certification for their assigned functional desk• A current NERC/RC Certification **OR** be able to obtain NERC Certification following on-the-job training prior to operating their assigned functional desk• Strong communication skillsWe would also prefer candidates with the following:• Experience in one of the following areas: electrical engineering, balancing authority, generation system dispatch, transmission system operations, merchant operations, generation operational planning, or power accountingAppropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.See what MISO is all about!MISO manages the electricity superhighway in the Central U.S. Through use of groundbreaking research and advanced technology, our highly skilled employees ensure power flows reliably to 45 million people.
