The role will lead a small group of creative technologists that work shoulder-to-shoulder with our research team. This research team is a group of experienced and visionary thinkers that will envision (conceive, simulate, proof, moonshot) mid future scenarios concerning home improvement and retail. The Sr Manager, Creative Technology will be responsible for driving and executing a strategic roadmap for the prototypes.To be successful, you are motivated and able to operate in a highly dynamic environment. You must have expert programming skills and have shipped world-class technologies or products on mobile, desktop and/or VR platforms. Strong 3D math and linear algebra skills, as well as experience working with games software or similar real time systems is a must. You must be prepared to drive ambiguous projects in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of self-motivation and direction. This involves setting clear goals, assigning tasks, and ensuring effective collaboration.• Drives and executes a strategic roadmap for technology prototypes, aligning with the Lowe’s and Lab’s goals and objectives. This includes identifying emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact, and prioritizing prototype development accordingly.• Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and incorporate it into the prototype development process.• Implements robust testing and quality control processes to ensure the prototypes meet the desired standards of functionality, usability, and performance.• Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of prototypes, gathering user feedback, and identifying areas for improvement. Iterating and refining prototypes based on feedback and lessons learned.• Applies understanding of emerging technologies and software development principles• Establishes a culture of innovation within the team and fostering an environment that promotes creativity and exploration• Promotes continued learning by staying updated on emerging trends, industry advancements, and cutting-edge technologies• Manages project budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and making informed decisions regarding technology investments and acquisitions.**Required Qualifications**• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, CIS or related field• 10 years' experience in software development or related field building interactive experiences in gaming or real-time• 6 years' experience working on projects at all phases of the development cycle• 5 years' experience in hardware/software prototyping with portfolio featuring examples of work• 5 years' experience leading cross-functional teams• Strong C++/C# experience• Strong 3D math skills• Strong Creative and UX elements reflected in prototype work• Deep understanding of established programming design patterns• Self-motivated problem-solver• Computer Vision experience• In-dept understanding of Unity and Unreal Engines• Experience in AR/VR technologies• Experience with electronic hardware prototyping (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBoard)• Experience with building rapid prototypes• Strong oral and written communication skills**Preferred Qualifications**• Master Degree in computer science, CIS or related field• Ability to thrive in a start-up-like environment and deliver results**About Lowe’s**Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
