The expectation of this role includes a variety of business-critical deliverable, including:+ Synthesizing broad findings into insights across a division, including implications that inform business decisions on complex issues+ Leveraging executive presence to influence decisions and proactively driving solutions to high-impact strategic questions and unaddressed opportunities.+ Ensuring communication of insights to business leaders and conveys viewpoints through written documents and influence models through minimal iterations of feedback and vetting.+ Managing multiple Strategy projects and teams across organizational boundaries as a project lead through goals, deliverables, feedback, resource balancing, and timing expectations.+ Deliver external communications on behalf of the Strategy function.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.**Responsibilities****In this role, you will** **be required** **to**+ Develop and maintain an understanding of Microsoft Game Studios portfolio as well as customers, competitors, partners, business models, market sizing, and industry trends; develop and maintain an understanding of the merger and acquisition (M&A), venture funding and public market environment and trends; lead market landscape analyses and review of companies of potential interest; provide guidance to business partners to inform decision-making; use existing knowledge base to drive a deal thesis and business model; communicate deal thesis and business model.+ Guide others in conducting innovative market-based research by leveraging and interpreting information (e.g., financial statements, reports, analyses, stakeholder feedback) around high-impact strategic questions, including researching within existing businesses and identifying new spaces for Microsoft; involve stakeholders as appropriate; leverage analyses of others to synthesize information and challenges research of others.+ Own framing for broad research projects, ratifying with executives; assist less experienced colleagues with framing as needed.+ Define and manage strategy project(s) as a project lead through goals, deliverables, feedback, and timing expectations, providing structure and guidance for others; proactively identifies and address roadblocks.+ Synthesize broad findings into insights across a division, including implications that inform business decisions on complex issues, leveraging executive presence to influence decisions and proactively driving solutions to high-impact strategic questions and unaddressed opportunities.+ Identify and scope expansive ideas for company strategy, often missed by others; leverages insights to develop recommendations and providethought leadership (e.g., trend identification, implications of competitor moves) around potential future growth opportunities and strategic issues for Microsoft.+ Sell value of new efforts to business partners and/or leadership.+ Guide team through development of frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights.**Problem Solving & Insights:**+ Synthesize findings into insights across projects, including implications that inform business decisions, leveraging executive presence to influence decisions and proactively identifying expansive ideas for company strategy, often missed by others; leverage insights to develop recommendations and seeks to provide thought leadership (e.g., trend identification, implications of competitor moves) around potential future growth opportunities and strategic issues for Microsoft Game Studios.+ Develop and drive frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights.**Communication:**+ Ensure communication of insights to business leaders (e.g., GM-level, CVP, EVP, CEO) and convey viewpoints through written documents (e.g., memos, reports) and influence models (e.g., meetings, presentations) through minimal iterations of feedback and vetting; build end-to-end storylines and create outlines across multiples projects for less experienced colleagues to leverage.+ Influence decision making by providing communications, ideas, and adapting messages to complex nuances as needed.+ Communicatevalue of new efforts to business partners and/or leadership.In the end, it’s the people of Game Content & Studios that make this place truly special. Come help us reach it!Embody our Culture (icrosoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values) and Values (icrosoft.com/us/en/culture)**Qualifications****Required** **Qualifications:**+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience+ OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 6+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience+ OR equivalent experience.+ 2+ years experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance.+ Proficiency in the gaming industry and experience at a global gaming company or studio with demonstrated results in development operational excellence around global compliance strategy against business growth.**Preferred Qualifications:**+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 12+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience+ OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 15+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience+ OR equivalent experience.+ 6+ years experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance.+ Experience working on strategic business planning and execution.+ Self-starter with analytical and problem-solving skills who's comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment, with rapidly changing requirements+ Superb communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.+ Proven practice of leadership and cross team collaboration.Business Strategy IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $154,500 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $199,600 - $299,400 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
