The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Senior Logistics Manager for all logistics programs in AFRL/RDS New Mexico sites. Responsibilities Serves as Senior Logistics Manager for all logistics programs in AFRL/RDS New Mexico sites. Provides advice and assistance to division leadership on business processes and performance/efficiency of the division. Provides technical oversight for division plans, goals and standards for performance capabilities. Responsible for programs associated with division business processes and resource management (facilities, equipment, budget, stock control and infrastructure). Exercises a high degree of judgment and initiative, and independently plans and develops AFRL/RDS programs to manage the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Calibration program, tool control and accountability program, equipment asset control program, periodic equipment maintenance program, technical data program, self-inspection program, and Unit Compliance Inspection preparations. Works closely with AFMC and AFRL counterparts to ensure compliance with regulations and instructions. Establishes operating instruction to guide AFRL/RDS on all aspects of these programs. Evaluates overall logistics process effectiveness, modernizes and transforms current business operations and support system, and modifies logistics strategic planning. Recommends methods to help the Division optimize use of resources and maximize efficiency and effectiveness. As a senior logistician, recommends to the division chief and branch chief's ways to evenly distribute and optimize organization resources to achieve goals and objective of the division and its customers. Establishes a review system for the organization that makes certain government needs are met and validated, and the economy and quality of operations are maintained or improved. Collaborates and plans with other managers and appropriate personnel to coordinate and/or integrate operations and interest of other organizations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade DO-1, GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes providing advice and assistance to leadership on business processed and the performance/efficiency of the division; providing technical oversight for division plans, goals and standards for performance capabilities; and/or evaluating overall logistics process effectiveness. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Problem Solving Communication Business Management Teamwork and Leadership PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
