Our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing industry, is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join their team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be part of the Engineering department supporting tooling fixture design and development. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Location: Southfield, MI
Pay Range: $ 27-32/hr (W2 Contract)
What’s the Job?
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, fixtures, tools, and controls, using computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment.
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
Modify existing 3D and 2D models and create new designs for simple and intermediate systems.
Coordinate and review with engineers and colleagues to maintain consistency within a given project.
Develop and maintain design documentation.
What’s Needed?
Approximately 8 years of experience in mechanical design with a strong focus on tooling fixture design.
Proficiency in Catia V5 CAD software and knowledge of automotive industry standards.
Strong understanding of body assembly and fixture tools for tooling fixture design.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
