About this Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Senior Communications Manager to provide comprehensive internal and external communications support to the ChristianaCare Medical Group (the operations/functions of the employed physicians).

Working as a member of the External Affairs Communications Team, this role will include a strong focus on

internal communications

as a way to foster a culture of engagement across practices, partnering with Medical Group leaders, physicians and practice managers, as well as key stakeholders throughout ChristianaCare.

In addition to internal communications, this role will provide external communications in the form of media relations and strategic communications support for the Medical Group, including developing and driving communications plans, writing press releases, pitching stories to the media and providing media training and support to Medical Group leaders and subject matter experts.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a communications and public relations professional to make a meaningful impact on the community and on the reputation of a nonprofit health system while ensuring transparent and effective communication!

Some responsibilities include.....

Partner with Medical Group leadership to support daily operations through effective communications.

Advise Medical Group leadership on fostering a positive, engaged Medical Group culture and appropriate internal branding.

Develop and implement essential communications plans that engage the Medical Group and meet the Medical Group's specific needs while also ensuring cohesion and alignment between Medical Group and systemwide communications.

Develop written communications, announcements, press releases, social media posts, presentations, speeches, talking points, intranet and website copy and other materials to support a wide variety of communications needs.

Identify and carry out opportunities for internal awareness, storytelling and media/thought-leadership throughout the Medical Group, in collaboration with Medical Group leaders and the Media Relations, Editorial and Marketing teams.

Education and experience requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 10 years of public relations experience, with a demonstrated ability to write and successfully complete multi-facetted communications and PR plans. Candidates with degree in public relations or communications are preferred.

Experience in health care communications, including internal communications, physician communications, public relations and social media.

Experience in developing and carrying out strategic internal communications plans.

Experience in writing and editing news and features content, press releases, speeches, presentations, website and social media content.
