Minister of Music and youth Job DescriptionThe following outlines a suggested purpose, requirement, and accountability system for the position of Minister of Music and FamiliesResponsibilities• Implement Brashear Baptist Church mission and vision statements as outlined in church s Constitution and By-Laws (Revised 2021)• Plan and lead meaningful worship services with a blend of different music styles• Organize, utilize, and supervise vocalists and musicians who desire to use their gifts and talents for the glory of God• Rehearsal required and to not interfere with Discipleship or other classes• Attend staff/minister meetings for prayer, calendar planning, implementation of ministry events and changes• Help with production of musical/drama programs, i.e., Christmas/Easter Drama skits when applicable• Meet with the pastor weekly to discuss weekly worship service• Meet regularly with the pastor and staff to evaluate the work of the Discipleship and set agenda for Discipleship Team Meetings.• Provide leadership and guidance to Youth Intern and requiring Youth Intern to formulate, plan, and submit youth ministry plan for review and guidance• Weekly mentoring with youth leaders• Provide active participation in other ministries and church activities• Strive to get all members attending Discipleship• Lead the Discipleship Planning Team Meetings.• Assist Senior Pastor with phone calls and visitation• Implement and facilitate quarterly resource and training meetings Sunday School teachers• Provide worship service for youth on Wednesday evenings• Communicate goals and actions to leaders and participants and evaluate progress.• Lead in developing an effective organization that facilitates spiritual transformation.• Lead in efforts to call participants into service and in enlisting and developing new leaders.• Lead in evaluating needs related to space, budget, Bible study curriculum, supplies, and other resources; recommend needed actions.• Set a positive example for others by living as an authentic witness of Christ and through full involvement in the life and ministry of the church.• Maintain attendance records and other participant information that strengthens the department's pursuit of the overall objectives of Discipleship.• Leaders and volunteers must pass a church required and funded background check and Ministry Safe Training.• Other responsibilities as requested by Senior Pastor.System of AccountabilityThe Minister of Music and Families shall be accountable first and foremost to God. The Associate Pastor of Music and Discipleship will serve under the supervision and leadership of the Senior Pastor. The Minister of Music and Families will be subject to the employment decisions of the church through the Personnel Committee.
