VP, Publisher Sales . They will be responsible for managing all new client and upsell bookings for our market-leading sales enablement and advertising intelligence application that boasts over 1000 clients spanning national and regional publishing, AdTech, and emerging technology.The VP, Publisher Sales will report to the Chief Commercial Officer, and will be a member of our senior leadership team. The right candidate is a high energy, results-oriented, reliable and innovative commercial leader, who partners effectively with Product Management and Customer Success to delight our customers. You are an ambitious, versatile commercial leader with a record of beating sales targets and experience recruiting, developing and managing a team of A-players. You bring a rigorous, high-energy approach to coaching and mentoring, AND to forecasting and pipeline management. You are process-driven and able to build scalable, repeatable best practices. You set the course for double-digit year over year growth, and you deliver.What You’ll Do:Leading the sales team to drive exceptional results, growing recurring revenues, while establishing infrastructure and process to scale.Managing the sales pipeline, including forecasting and budgeting.Selling to large accounts directly, in support of enterprise sales goals.Providing strategic updates to the management team on performance, development and growth of sales organization.Attending in-person meetings, developing and presenting sales presentations and attending trade shows as required.Recruiting, developing and managing an industry-leading sales team to exceptional achievement and long-term retention and motivation.Training the team in value-based selling techniquesGuiding the sales team with varying approaches, personal characteristics, etc.Requirements

What You’ve Done:The VP of Sales must be a strong leader and an excellent communicator. Exceptional interpersonal skills are imperative.Ability to operate in a highly fluid environment with direct experience leading through merger integrations or periods of dramatic change.Courage to re-envision and constantly evolve the sales process, as customer expectations changeAt least 10 years of sales experience, driving results, exceeding plans and recruiting and developing a world-class sales organizationAn inspirational team leader. A natural coach who develops the team to reach greater heights each yearExperience selling data and information services software, or selling research productsProven results, evidence of exceeding sales goals for yourself and your teamStrong analytical and quantitative skillsSuccessful track record managing a technology or market research sales team that sells similar sized deals (20k-90k) and similar volume (15-25 deals a year per rep)Strong sales methodology and data-driven approach to examining and improving the production of the teamSalesforce.com expert with the confidence to use the tool as a strategic weaponExperience personally managing very large and very important accountsExecutive presence and confidenceA true problem solver and build at your coreA good sense of humor; does not take oneself too seriouslyIntellectual honesty (a realist vs. an eternal optimist or constant cheerleader)Strong work ethic and motivation to winWhile we have outlined certain minimum requirements for this role, please don’t let that deter you if you feel you can excel in this position.
