Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.General Summary: Seattle Pacific University is seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to join our Office of University Communications. This marketing/communications professional will assist in implementing the University's marketing and communication goals as outlined in the strategic plan. The Communications Specialist will support campus clients in achieving their marketing and communication objectives, develop and implement marketing strategies, and manage a variety of communication projects for both print and web.Job duties include:Project Management (55%): Manage projects such as brochures, postcards, websites, email campaigns, and social media content, ensuring they stay within schedule and budget parameters.Client Consultation (20%): Consult with campus clients to understand their marketing and communication needs and act as a liaison with University Communications.Writing and Editing (15%): Write and edit feature articles, appeals, and other communication materials.Collaboration (5%): Work with graphic and web designers to implement communications projects.Vision Articulation (5%): Help articulate the University's vision to both on-campus and off-campus audiences.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in writing, journalism, English, communication, public relations, marketing, or a related field.At least three years of experience in a publishing and/or marketing environment, with specific experience in writing, editing, and project management.Outstanding writing and editing skills.Portfolio of published writing pieces and familiarity with editorial style guides (especially The Associated Press Stylebook).Ability to show samples of completed marketing projects, both print and digital.Basic knowledge of CRM tools such as SLATE is a plus.Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Teamwork skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to SPU's vision.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Familiarity with internet applications.Committed, active Christian faith with knowledge of and ability to articulate SPU's mission and vision.Additional Information:Position will remain open until filled.

After an initial training period, this position may be allowed to work a hybrid schedule. The employee must reside and work in the state of Washington.Hourly rate: $27.40 to $28.60, DOE.This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes generous contributions to an employee HSA account and a 7% contribution to a retirement account, for eligible employees, with immediate vesting in the plan.
