Gensler’s North Central Region is seeking a creative, organized, motivated, and highly collaborative individual to join our team as a Marketing Specialist for our Lifestyle Sector. This role is a key producer of materials that support Gensler’s business development efforts. Specialists work under the direction of office leadership, senior design and business leadership, and marketing leadership to plan, coordinate, write, design, and deliver proposals, presentations, and other collateral / thought leadership used to help the firm win work. Marketers also support the general activities of the office/regional marketing studio, including activities related to win strategy, market positioning, storytelling, graphic design, and knowledge management.

We are looking for an assertive, tenacious, and strategic marketer with a strong background in guiding teams through complicated pursuit processes. An equally important trait is bringing a curious and innovative approach to storytelling and graphic design. Successful candidates will join a team of other skilled marketers including other specialists across our other sectors of work (Work, Cities, and Health).

A successful candidate for this role will specifically have a passion for the Lifestyle Sector – which in our region includes practice areas of Residential, Retail, Mixed-Use, Hospitality, and Cities & Urban Design—crafting compelling narrative and strategy around the places we live and play. You are intrigued by shifting trends in real estate development, the future of the hospitality and entertainment industries, and the power of design to shape flexible and equitable communities and are excited to manage pursuits that include large consultant teams, as well as critical local and historic context.

What You Will Do

Lead pursuit strategy and planningBe the go-to for all things Lifestyle marketing in the Chicago officeWork with principals, senior staff, and other marketing team members to plan, coordinate, write, design, and deliver proposals, presentations, and other marketing collateral in alignment with brand standardsDevelop new materials as needed to support business development activities, with a critical emphasis on graphic design capabilitiesPerform multiple marketing efforts against rapid and frequent deadlinesLearn and understand Gensler’s portfolio of work, practice areas, and capabilitiesMaintain marketing collateral, resources, and information systemsWork closely with other marketing team members to complete special projects and elevate the quality of our efforts

Your Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in a marketing position with a design or professional services firm, prior experience in the AEC industry is necessaryBachelor's degree in marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Architecture, Interior Design, Journalism, or BusinessAbility to lead Business Development conversations confidently and strategically, collaborating closely with leadership on win strategy and storytellingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExceptional and flexible interpersonal communication skills, including direct experience “managing up” and working across hierarchyCreative and impactful graphic design skills, including creating effective presentations and marketing collateralStrong organizational and time management skills to coordinate and manage multiple projects and deadlinesAbility to work with diverse project teams and in a fast-paced work environmentMastery of InDesign is a mustProficiency in Photoshop / Illustrator is desired, knowledge of Miro and Salesforce is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
