Job Summary:

The Database Marketing Specialist will assist with data access and delivery across all of Zoro's marketing channels. This individual will design and develop audience targeting and segmentation criteria to enable the business to deliver messages that are prioritized, personalized, and beneficial to the Zoro customer experience. This position will work to evolve these techniques to keep up with ever changing business and customer needs; improve effectiveness and efficiency; and drive bottom up data driven recommendations to deliver revenue growth from our customer base.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for creation and delivery of audience files for marketing campaigns across all channels. Ensuring Zoro customers receive the most effective messaging, at the right time, with the appropriate offer, personalized based on their onsite behavior and firmographic data.

Act as the Subject Matter Expert on customer segmentation and audience selection logic. A key voice in discussions involving marketing strategies and customer journeys, providing data and insights to support campaign tactics and marketing initiatives.

Building and executing tests in direct marketing channels, ensuring tests are designed to properly answer business questions and data is well organized for efficient back-end analytics.

Liaise between Marketing Analytics and marketing channel owners, translating information derived from complex data analysis into easily understandable insights and actionable recommendations.

Cultivating a strong relationship between Marketing and the Data Engineering/Data Science teams. Ensure the Marketing team has understanding of and access to all relevant customer data. Provide quality assurance to the data teams on ongoing projects, verifying all deliverables meet their acceptance criteria.

Provide data operations support for key business activities (strategic initiatives, campaign design, customer segmentation strategy, etc.).

Monitoring of the movement and storage of integrated marketing data and performance of quality assurance checks across all data deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications:

Proficient in SQL/relational databases

Strong communication skills in order to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders. Must be able to interact cross-functionally and take part in both business and technical discussions

The ability to understand big data and deliver insights and recommendations to team members without backgrounds in analytics

Capable of thinking through complex business problems and solving them by analyzing large amounts of data

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience assisting business decision making through data analysis and discovery

Data analysis/operations experience, ideally within eCommerce

Knowledge of data warehouse management and operations
