The successful candidate will have excellent opportunities to lead and develop the instrumental music program.
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered Liberal Arts education, Christian service, and the mission of the university.
Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Faculty rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching experience, and research.Position is scheduled to begin June 2024.Summary of Duties:Teach a 4 course load for the academic yearDirect marching band, concert band, jazz ensemble and pep bandRecruit prospective band membersDevelop mutually beneficial relationships with the area-wide music communityDevelop musical talent and leadership capacity of band membersLead the band to represent the university in a variety of settingsQualifications:Earned master's degree in music field with an instrumental emphasis required; earned doctorate degree, ABD status or pursuing doctoral studies in music or related field preferredExperience directing marching and concert bands requiredPreferred QualificationsCollegiate instrumental teaching and band directing experience or5 years of public or private school instrumental teaching experienceActive member of the church of ChristFor initial application submit:ResumeCover letterEmployment is conditional upon a satisfactory background check and verification of work authorization through E-VerifyNon-discrimination statement: Faulkner University is a church-affiliated liberal arts institution committed to employing a highly qualified and diverse administration, faculty and staff, which reflects the University's religious traditions, values and affiliation, and purpose.
