The Children's Center for Communication and Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) is seeking a part-time, highly qualified Music Instructor to join our team. CCCBSD is a therapeutic-educational program serving students ages 3 to 22 with communication, developmental, sensory, medical, and physical challenges. Typical class size is 5 students.
The music program is intended to provide students with a therapeutic and instructional program while introducing music appreciation. The instructor will have a number of tools available, including a specialized music room equipped with a grand piano, keyboards, assorted small instruments, smart board, light towers, subwoofers, and other adapted equipment for a fully accessible environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with children with special needs
- Classroom music experience
- Ability to provide a flexible music program
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or experience with children with hearing loss is a bonus but not required
- Music degree preferred; DESE certification not required
CCCBSD faculty provide a 204-day schedule for students with traditional school vacations and a 6-week summer calendar. This is a part-time (3 days/week) position. Position begins July 8th with the start of our new school year.
