We are looking for a talented Designer to manage the Women's activewear line. Our ideal candidate should be a team player with strong knowledge of the Activewear market, possesses excellent attention to detail and can be flexible in a fast-paced working environment.Responsibilities:Continuously research concept, color, mood, & styling through magazine, forecasting, and trend services. Shop stores, develop and adjust ideas to fit specific brand/market in accordance with the design calendar.In partnership with the Design Director, set the overall tone of the product line by interpreting trends obtained through market shopping and trend forecasting services as it relates to market demand and brand image.Design silhouettes based on the overall design direction and Merchandising plan and ensure product has a purpose within the collection.Select color palettes, fabrics & trim to review with Design Director for approval.Sketch and Color up Styles on Adobe Illustrator to create CADs based on final color palettesDevelop tech packs for costing/sampling and production using PLMCommunicate the brand vision and creative direction to design assistant to ensure consistency and clear path to design goalEnsure clear communication on project status and deadlines with Merchandising, Sales, Design, Technical, and Production teamsEnsure that the design inspiration is set on a timely basis to present to Licensing/retail partners and incorporate feedback onto the development of the linePresent design proposals/initial designs to in-house design, merchandising and sales teamsReview/hand-off designs & fabrics with production for preliminary costingPartner with the graphics team to ensure that all graphics incorporate the seasonal direction, and are cohesive to the spirit of the specific brandDevelop SKU plans in conjunction with Merchandising and SalesEnsure that sampling of collections at all stages of development are in line with merchandising planWork directly with, as well as communicate through e-mail with overseas offices and in-house production staffEnsure that trim development is done in a timely manner, so that it is presented and approved in time for sample developmentWork with Merchandising/Sales to get feedback on collection from sales/stores ensuring business needs are met without sacrificing the fashion directionSet up initial and final master line sheets prior to starting productionIn partnership with the Design Director, evaluate and resolve development and production issues that affect the aesthetics of the productAttend fittings and review product to execute the vision of the collectionsQualifications:Bachelor's degree preferred5+ years of apparel design experienceSpecialized knowledge in Women's Activewear productStrong proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM, & Microsoft OfficeKeen attention to detailStrong ability to multitaskA great team player, who is flexible and has a can do attitudeAnnual salary range starting at $75,000The disclosed salary range is commensurate with experience and does not reflect the total compensation package.
