Women's Activewear Designer
Client Overview:
Wholesale manufacturer which owns and licenses a portfolio of National and International lifestyle brands in Ladies, Mens and Kids active wear, athleisure and casual sportswear.
Position Overview:
As the Designer, you will be responsible for product management from concept through delivery.
Designer Responsibilities:
• Takes ownership of design process from initial inspiration to final sample and responsible for entire product life cycle including trend research, inspiration, sketches, mock-ups, garment specs, special details and fit.• Proficient in Tech Packing from initial to development.• Expert in garment construction specific to women's active apparel• Works with VP to actively design & execute the vision of the brand - has a strong knowledge of trends, market demands, brand objectives and design aesthetic.• Designs a balanced collection appropriate to the demands of the business growth strategy.• Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the Off-Price Market.• Strong communication skills to collaborate and communicate internally & externally with cross-functional teams: Design, Sales, Production & Overseas factories.• Accountable for sourcing incoming swatches/trims from the factories for seasonal fabric development.• Reviews all incoming samples; making sure submits are matching to standard and licensing agreement.• Solution oriented with ability to anticipate problems, address issues, and resolve challenges in a timely manner.• Maintains an organized design space (samples, files, visual CAD's etc.) so that information is readily accessible to teammates.
Designer Qualifications:
• Background in apparel design, activewear preferred• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop• Ability to work on site 5 days a week• Experience working with Walmart a PLUS
