Create and develop apparel lines from inception to production of garments. Use expertise, technical knowledge, and design ability to embed intuitive innovation into each product balancing functionality and esthetic. Act as a resource and mentor for junior team members. Present concepts and communicate seasonal direction and design to design leadership team. Responsible for designing and executing seasonal styles that reflect lululemon’s Women’s Design ethos. Responsible for the conceptual creation of styles and the administrative processes of maintaining this information. Create and communicate product storytelling, design and sweater construction. Own an assortment of styles and work closely with senior members of the team and X-functional partners to create design informed solves, for our guests needs. Responsible for fitting styles in order to accurately communicate design intent. Partner with the inhouse workshop to create mockups and prototypes. Partner with pattern-makers in creating 3D drafts of seasonal designs. Create knit -down and stitch layouts for construction details and finishes. Work cross functionally within the pod collaborating with product development, fit, merchandising, raw materials development and colour, sourcing and design operations, to ensure teams have the most up to date information on styles. Work with raw material team on developing yarns, textures that perform and have a function. Participate in key meetings for downloads, lead design meetings, partner with leaders to action feedback for continual innovation of product & to the junior members of the team.

Telecommuting permitted up to three days per week within same geographic location as assigned office location.

Domestic Travel Required 5% of the time.

40 hrs./week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field plus eight (8) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the Fashion Industry.

Must have 8 years of experience working with all of the following(which may be gained concurrently):

· Yarn sizes, sourcing and development;

· Machine gauges;

· Knit-down and sweater construction;

· Knitwear machinery, including technical flat bed for sweaters; and

· Yarn construction, Whole garment, Flat bed, and hand-knitting.

Must have 8 years of experience in all of the following (which may be gained concurrently):

· Development of apparel lines; and

· Garment design.

Must have 2 years of experience in all of the following (which may be gained concurrently):

· 3-D designing;

· Adobe Illustrator & In-Design;

· Adobe Photoshop; and

· Mac platform.

Must have a portfolio demonstrating hand-sketching and illustration skills in relevant, related, up-to-date subject matter with recent additions from the last 2 years.

Workplace arrangement

This role is classified as Hybrid under our SSC Workplace policy:

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 2 days per week.

The typical hiring range for this position in California is from $111,904.00-$131,904.00 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
