is searching for a Global Social Media Lead to partner with the VP of Marketing Communications and Regional Communications Directors to set and implement a global social media strategy. Through this work, we will grow Change.org’s reach, shape brand perception, and make ourselves central in timely online discussion – all in service of increasing platform activity.

From mobilizing over 5 million people to investigate the fires in the Amazon, to mobilizing nearly 3 million against war and famine in Yemen, to large-scale mobilizations for the people of Iran and against the war in Ukraine, and calling for Racial Justice in the US, many movements were born on Change.org. We want to help them go even further and we need your help! You will report to our VP, Marketing Communications. As a key member of our Marketing Communications team, you’ll partner with team members in 13 countries to develop and implement a global social media strategy.

Key Outcomes:

Develop a channel-specific, global social media strategy that enables in-country Comms Leads to grow their channels in a way that creates local resonance and reflects a cohesive global brand.

Support in-country Comms Leads in implementing the social media strategy by:

Building content operation to provide ready-made, easily adapted content for use across multiple markets.

Creating resource library and providing regular coaching to upskill global comms team members on social media best practices and trends.

Supporting the team in setting ambitious goals and ensuring we have the tools and processes to measure performance.

Holding a high bar for creative execution.

Partner with brand and marketing team members to maximize social media contribution for tentpole campaigns.

Deep social media expertise across multiple platforms, including:

Content Production

Analytics

Understanding of platform specific dynamics

Experience with cross functional partnerships.

Influencing/leading others without direct management.

Ability to operate with agility: make quick pivots based on the news cycle, social media trends, or shifts in company strategy.

Experience developing high level global social media strategies and implementation.

Target experience:

7+ years of experience developing content across social media platforms.

2+ years of experience leading global social media for a broad consumer base.

Here's what you should know: This is a full time role and we are open to folks living in USA and Canada. Change.org is a global company, and salaries are adjusted for cost of labor in each location. The annual salary of a Global Social Media Lead in the USA is: SF/NYC $150,000, Austin/Boston/LA/Seattle/DC $142,500, All other US cities: $127,500. Benefits and perks also vary based on location. We typically offer a fully remote workforce, 100% employer-paid health plan options, life insurance, unlimited PTO, and 18 weeks of parental leave.
