Creative Director

SUMMARY:

Bud & Mary’s Creative Director is responsible for shaping the visual and experiential identity of our company and brands. The Creative Director’s leadership will guide our creative team in the development and execution of compelling branding, marketing campaigns, and product designs that resonate with our diverse audience. The Creative Director will be the driving force behind our creative excellence, ensuring our messaging is consistent, impactful, and aligned with our company's values and objectives. This position reports to the VP of Marketing.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 10 years experience in the creative industry

Minimum of 5 years management experience

Must possess an excellent portfolio, including examples of print and digital design work

2+ years of experience in cannabis is highly desirable

2+ years of experience in CPG marketing is highly desirable

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop and oversee the creative vision and strategy for multiple cannabis brands across various platforms, ensuring a cohesive and engaging brand experience.

Lead and inspire a team of creative professionals, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing environment.

Design, develop and execute compelling brand strategies, marketing campaigns, and product designs.

Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, wholesale and retail teams to create integrated campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and sales.

Oversee the creative process from concept to execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards of creativity and innovation.

Stay ahead of industry trends, consumer behaviors, and technological advancements to keep our brands relevant and competitive.

Drive continuous improvement in our creative processes and outputs, leveraging data and feedback to optimize performance.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and other creative resources.

Ensure all creative outputs adhere to regulatory and compliance standards specific to the cannabis industry.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Strong understanding of cannabis marketing strategies and practices

Expert in brand development and management

Ability to communicate a creative vision and execute

Proficiency in leading and managing a creative team

Proficiency with Adobe Suite applications

Strong understanding of UX and customer journeys

Proficiency in technology software, desktop electronics, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

PHYSICAL EFFORT NEEDED:

Minimal physical effort is required.

TYPICAL NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS:

Two (2) direct reports.

TRAVEL:

Travel may be required for promotional events, content gathering and other instances that may necessitate being on-site.

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
