The Vice President of Sales & Marketing strategically and tactically directs the sales and marketing activities of all the company’s managed hotels, leading direct reports as well as direct sales and marketing activities and is responsible for growing and evolving the company’s sales and marketing capabilities, revenue growth and market share performance through the acquisition of revenues via reactive systems and proactive incremental sales activities.

Do you have the right skills and experience for this role Read on to find out, and make your application.The essential job functions include:Leads the continuing evolution of the sales and marketing culture of the Company.Leads the Sales Team, creating a proprietary advantage for the company in the area of Sales & Marketing.Collaborates with the President & CEO on:Strategic plan of activity for all sales and revenue generating activities above and at the property levelDesign of the incentive plans for all sales-based roles in the companyDesign, implementation and success of new tools, methods, accountability techniques and programs to positively influence the company’s sales activities and productivityIdentifies new and advanced tools and strategies to maximize revenue at the Company and its hotels. Keeps abreast of new developments in the hospitality industry and reacts accordingly to evolve the company’s efforts to be at the forefront of technology, tools and strategies. Oversees all third-party relationships and agreement negotiations with sales and marketing vendors, service-providers and partners. Produces better than expected results from a sales and marketing standpoint for all the company’s hotels by beating revenue budgets, increasing market share, training and mentoring team members, etc. Ensures the Sales Team members are highly focused and highly effective at adding incremental room nights and revenues that, short of the Sales Team’s efforts, the Company’s hotels would not have otherwise earned. Strategically and tactically impacts the performance of the company’s hotels. Contributes to the company’s corporate strategic marketing programs and strategy. Leads the process of completing the annual Sales and Marketing Business Plans for all hotels in the company and participates in the budgeting process for all hotels. Participates in development and acquisition pro forma building; to include market analysis, projections and client presentations. Participates on the Company’s Leadership Committee, helping drive the company forward. Collaborates with other leaders and senior leaders in the organization to improve all revenue-generating systems and processes, all designed to maximize revenue and profit.

Education:

An undergraduate degree in Business Management, Hospitality, Economics, Marketing, or other business-related field preferred.Experience:

5+ years of experience in a management or leadership role (hospitality, retail, food service preferred). Desired candidate would also have 5+ years’ work experience in a hospitality sales experience, preferably in the extended stay hotel environment.Knowledge:General understanding of common office proceduresBasic business management practicesSkills:Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficientlyIntermediate computer operation including but not limited to accessing data from the internetEffective communication with staff and guestsEffective conflict managementEffective negotiation and sales skillsE.O.E.
