The Associate Director oversees the marketing team, manages campaigns to advance the mission of the Archdiocese of Detroit, and serves the creative and marketing needs of the archdiocese's departments, offices, and ministries.

Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing StrategyCollaborate with the Director of Communications to develop and implement a marketing strategy that supports the Archdiocese of Detroit’s mission and goals while boosting engagement with both the faithful and those seeking connection with the Church.Conduct market research to identify opportunities and trends.Create marketing plans that include digital, social media, content, email, and traditional marketing channels.

Team LeadershipLead and manage the team as an internal agency serving the departments, offices, and ministries of the Archdiocese of Detroit, including Sacred Heart Major Seminary and Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services.Recruit and oversee marketing freelancers and contractors to support the in-house marketing team.Monitor and evaluate the performance of freelancers, ensuring high-quality and timely completion of deliverables.Manage contracts, budgets, and payments for freelance and contract work.Build and maintain a network of reliable and talented freelance content creators.

Collaboration and CommunicationAssist the Client Services and Event Manager develop, present, and execute marketing plans, while incorporating client feedback throughout the process.Develop and implement strategic departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives, while managing resources and evaluating progress to enhance effectiveness.Collaborate with the other department Associate Director, support their work, and build a culture of prayerfulness, excellence, collaboration and innovation.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:Use analytics tools to track and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies.Generate monthly reports on key metrics, campaign performance, and ROI.Use data insights to inform and optimize future marketing strategies.

Required Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesProven experience in multi-channel and digital marketing with a track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, SEO tools, CRM systems, and social media management tools.Passionate about contributing to the mission of the Catholic Church as a servant leader in the Archdiocese of Detroit.Must be willing to work on a flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends.

Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field.Minimum five years of experience in marketing.Minimum of three years of experience managing direct reports, cross-department teams, external contractors, and vendors.

Travel RequiredThe ability to travel throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit.
