Patron Services AssociatePOSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Marketing & Patron Engagement is a key leadership position for the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra (BRSO). This individual will spearhead marketing and public relations and oversee the ticketing team. They will be responsible for all aspects of marketing the Symphony and will support the BRSO’s development efforts with patron communications, preparation of event notifications, and other tasks as required. The successful candidate will prioritize relationship building, develop and implement marketing strategies, and focus on developing and launching processes to strengthen the organization’s capacity to increase earned and contributed revenue.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMARKETING FUNCTIONS

Create and reinforce BRSO’s brands and ensure consistent delivery of messages across all platforms, including website, social media, and printed materials.Oversee the production of all digital and printed marketing materials.Collaborate with the Louisiana Youth Orchestra to grow enrollment and participation in programs through targeted promotion.Oversee the development and implementation of subscription, single ticket, and special event sales campaigns through direct mail, print and on-air media, telemarketing, electronic communications, and grassroots marketing initiatives.Interact with a broad range of constituencies, including local media outlets, and serve as spokesperson for the BRSO as needed.Represent the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra at performances, events, and excel in community engagement.Oversee and develop the BRSO’s social media presence to represent BRSO in a consistent manner.DEVELOPMENT FUNCTIONS

Assist the Executive Director as needed in all areas of giving, including but not limited to, individual gifts, corporate gifts and sponsorships, foundation gifts, and endowment gifts.Participate in all fundraising event planning, promotion, and execution to support the BRSO’s development needs.ADMINISTRATIVE

Assist the Executive Director in establishing appropriate ticket sales, fundraising, and event goals; prepare regular reports and projections.Serve as part of the senior management team in assisting the Executive Director in setting and implementing institutional strategic goals.Negotiate contracts with outside marketing and development vendors and evaluate their work.Maintain and distribute a primary patron communications calendar.Actively participate on appropriate Board committees.Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEThe ideal candidate must have:Minimum 3 years of experience as a marketing and/or fundraising professional.Superb written, verbal, and organizational skills.Excellent time management skills.Experience developing income projections and expense budgets.Experience leading and motivating volunteer committees and task forces.Strong social and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work evenings and weekends when required by event schedule.Preferred qualifications include:Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.Experience in working with professional symphonies, theatres, museums, or other arts-related non-profit organizations.Demonstrated management and leadership skills.Experience working with AudienceView Professional or similar ticketing systems.Experience working for a performing arts organization.Passion for the arts and its vital role in enhancing the quality of life in our community.
