The right candidate will be entrepreneurial, unafraid to take creative risks, and be as passionate about social media, storytelling, and strategic community building as we are.Reporting to the VP Brand Marketing, this role requires a social media expert who can drive strategy, lead internal and external social resources, and educate a broader organization on what “great” looks like across social.If Digital moves fast, social moves faster. What is a brat summer? Are carousels in again? We need someone on our team who can answer these questions (and more) to help us keep up with the pace of change that’s happening on platforms and in culture, and bring that relevance to the work and our brand.Essential FunctionsBuild and implement strategy for Zevia’s flagship social handles across all social media platforms, but focused the most on TikTok and Instagram.Bring to life our voice, tone and identity and develop a consumer-first and platform-bespoke “reason to follow” across all @zevia accounts.Innovate how we use social media to drive business outcomes, build our communities, and drive brand awareness and advocacy.Build and oversee a team that is best in class in terms of content, production, publishing and community management.Own external partner relations for social, including creators and agencies.Review and provide feedback on preliminary and final concepts, graphics, music, rough cuts and final versions of creative content that may need to be developed in app and off app.Ensure all cross functional stakeholders are supported with clear ways of working and best practices.Evaluate social platforms, tools, and services against business goals and deliver formalized reports that are actionable and timebound.Identify content that appeals to Zevia consumers and followers of Zevia’s creators as inspiration for original content development.Measure social media KPIs monthly, quarterly, and yearly.Build and manage an annual social budget.About YouThe ideal candidate will:Be experimental with content; take risks with what you're creating; and be original. Can turn one-off hits into successful repeatable formats.Leverage trends to stay relevant, while focusing on original content formats as key to success.Create content natively in app, with a hook, point of view, and personality, using creative approaches to format, structure and presentation of content.Be highly collaborative — you’re not afraid to lead or follow and believe in the power of “showing” your work.Be well-versed in cultivating an organic relationship with followers through savvy and meaningful community management.Have excitement and never-ending curiosity surrounding the future of social storytelling.Leverage sound strategy, data, and best-in-class creative to build upon intuition.Be comfortable turning data into insights, and insights into strategy.Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure that they are informed of and aligned to our social strategy.Provide constructive guidance at all stages of the creative process.Build strong relationships and work across varied internal cross-functional teams.Be comfortable and adept at communicating with all levels of the organization.Required Education and Experience:6+ years experience, including time as a creator/editor within social media for brands.Previous supervisory experience is preferred.CPG experience is a plus.Experience in content distribution channels including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, X, Threads, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.Excellent social copywriting skills with a gen-z lens.Experience creating social media content natively in-app (TikToks, Reels, Stories, Feed Content, and Carousels).Knowledge of what works across various social platforms.Experience with social analytics platforms.Experience working on social teams that had to launch and grow channels from scratch is a plus.Working knowledge of the paid media space.Experience working on early stage social teams is a plus.Experience working with executives, creators, freelancers, and agencies.Enthusiasm for what we are building at Zevia.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position is a direct supervisor.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
