Summary:

As a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer at RF-SMART, you will help us design and build the future of RF-SMART products focused on supply chain in multiple industries across mobile, web, and server application components and the end-to-end customer lifecycle, while working with a great engineering and product strategy team. We’re looking for someone who can help our team move confidently into new product areas, markets, and customer segments through product-led design principles and a design-thinking methodology.

You will own the total customer experience from sales and implementations down to delivery and support, which is heavily focused on user experience of our applications but extends naturally to our people-centric processes and the invisible glue that binds the total user experience overall.

This team is a hybrid team with both in-office and fully remote, full-time team members around the world. This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Software Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist our Product Strategy team with:

Build out and perfect our product development life cycle (PDLC) using design thinking methodologies.Market research and analysis, problem identification, and exploratory opportunity mining.User surveys, customer advisory board reviews, and building product domain expertise.Wireframing and low-fidelity mockups for applications, screens, or components to drive user testing and feedback.Identifying opportunities for process improvement or ground-up design to handle overall customer experience.High fidelity mockups when necessary for final product proving grounds and market testing of minimum viable product.

Assist our Product Engineering team with:

Reviews of development work and output, work-in-progress, and code reviews to ensure final product deliverables meet design and usability requirements.Assist with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility guidelines and compliance within the defined VPAT application scopes.Provide wireframes and mockups across screen dimensions and resolutions for adaptive or responsive breakpoints and rendering, where there’s deviation.Occasionally help with CSS or HTML markup tweaks or assistance to bring designs to reality.

Assist our UI and Design Architects with:

Fleshing out design concepts and UX approaches, best practices, and frameworks to apply across different product-lines within the organization.Help product strategy or engineering teams in other divisions when necessary.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

At least 5 years in a UX engineering role in the Enterprise/B2B space (any vertical) with references.

User experience and design skills:

You’re the kind of person who loathes beautiful applications that are difficult to use or aren’t functional.You’re always looking to reengineer processes that are data-centric when people are involved.Your user-empathy score, from 1-10, is 12.In an extremely creative and artistic role, you understand deadlines and the need to make the best decision possible to deliver great results without exhausting every option.You can bridge the gap between technical limitations for software engineers and usability needs of the user; these are reflected in your wireframes and mockups.You’ll have at least 1 piece of critical feedback for us about this job posting.

What skills are coachable or nice-to-have?

Experience working with cross-functional, multi-discipline teams.Knowledge or experience in the supply chain, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or healthcare industries.Experience working in some or all our technology stack (Figma, CSS, Adobe Aria, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Jira, REST APIs, C#, Kotlin, Swift).You can not only draw the screens but help “toggle the bits.”Proficiency using modern user testing platforms and tools such as Maze, User Testing, etc.
