Provides mentoring and coaching to team members in establishing and executing marketing strategies consistent with established P&L objectives. Builds strong collaborative partnerships with the commercial organization in order to ensure plans that will lead to successful execution within the on-premise channel. Acts as a subject matter expert for the Commercial BU in on premises. Participates in the development, refinement, and execution of OGSM customer brand level strategies, and advises the broader team regarding on-premise programming. Demonstrates expertise in the on-premise channel and teaches direct reports and cross-functional partners the necessary skills for success.Essential FunctionsPartners with leadership to develop/align on the strategic brand vision for OP Portfolio and develops on-premise focused portfolio-based initiatives to win in the channel.Identifies opportunities to strengthen Gallo’s on-premise offering, partnering with the innovation team.Participates in the development and execution of strategies in support of the OGSM’s.Prioritizes on-premise portfolio initiatives and ensures organizational focus on the highest priority areas.Builds and maintains specific on-premise channel expertise to inform brand go to market strategy.Acts as channel subject matter expert for the on-premise channel across the business unit.In partnership with sales channel leader, identifies and develops initiatives to influence key influencers in the on-premise channel to drive brand awareness, trial and relevance.Stays abreast market trends and recommends on-premise channel strategies on behalf of the business unit.Guides and oversees analysis of data from internal and external data sources and market research to identify trends and opportunities and provides insights.Collaborates with the BU and the commercial organization to develop and deploy advocacy programming to strengthen Gallo’s relationship and standing within the on-premise community.In coordination with the Brand Manager, Commerce and Sales Planning, approves market/channel strategy.Oversees initiatives for improving sales communication platforms, technologies and processes related to OP.Develops, maintains and ensures adherence to annual A&P budget.Works with appropriate partners from outside agencies to deliver programming and promotions that will increase visibility and execution within the on-premise channel.In partnership with the Drive team, develops close relationships with Gallo Sales, key customers and distributor teams to ensure products across the brand portfolio are positively showcased and promoted.Identifies category level research needs and approves brand specific research initiatives proposed by the brand teams.Acts as the Outcome Owner through the agile marketing process.Provides recommendations and input to the BU leadership team on category strategies & portfolio OGSMs.Represents the business unit supporting marketing in cross functional and leadership forums and meetings.Identifies and obtains staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives.Oversees projects that have short to long term focus.Directs the development and implementation of standards and goals, ensuring they support the organization's business plans.Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree plus 8 years of finance, marketing, supply chain/supply planning, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of finance, marketing, supply chain/supply planning, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of Gallo brand marketing or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree plus 6 years of Gallo brand marketing or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 14 years of finance, marketing, supply chain/supply planning, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.Supervisory or managerial experience.Knowledge of on-premise channel including national account programming and sub channels.2 years of experience in building brands in the on-premise channel.Experience making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.Required to travel in the market 60% of the time.Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.Required to be 18 years or older.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree plus 10 years of on-premise marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.Experience managing test and learn processes with cross-functional teams.Experience successfully positioning products within highly-competitive categories; knowledge of how to synthesize research and information to create compelling marketing and advertising programs.Experience inspiring the best from key support areas such as R&D, advertising agencies, and customers such as Sales.Thorough knowledge of using packaging to create compelling competitive differentiation.Experience with long-term brand building, as well as classic consumer packaged goods marketing and niche marketing where required.Classical training in sophisticated marketing techniques, new product development and introduction, and brand building.Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting the most complex documents.Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.Experience writing speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and database. Proficient in IRI, Brio and Spectra.Skilled in applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, or permutations.Skilled in applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, or factor analysis.Experience applying principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Experience dealing with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.Experience dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.Experience working with all levels and functions within the company.Gallo does not sponsor for employment-based visas for this position now or in the future.CompensationHiring Salary Range: $143,500 - $215,300/YearActual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.This position includes a competitive benefits package.
