Education :Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field of study requiredMBA preferred, but not requiredWork Experiences:Minimum of 15+ years of experience in large retail environment, consumer package goods, or advertising agency that serves Fortune 500 companies7+ years of management experience with strong people development backgroundExperience working in retail environmentExperience with local/community/grassroots marketing and advertisingEvent activation experience with brands or agenciesExperience in B2C, B2B, and B2G (government) communications and sales cycles preferredSkills:Ability to manage individuals and teams (both in-office and remotely) utilizing influence over direct authority to inspire high level performanceStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external, including vendors, investors, directors and executive officersAnalytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skillsProvide superior customer service, demonstrating sound logic and judgmentSelf-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively react and resolve conflictProficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Power PointExcellent verbal, listening, and written communication skillsEffective communicator with strong, professional written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects all the while balancing strategic and tactical issueResponsibilities:Oversee the day to day operations and develop and execute strategic direction of travel, events, engagement, public relations, and internal communications departmentsCoach and support Store Directors with community marketing and PR efforts to ensure achievement of transactions and salesMaintain current knowledge on state and federal laws that pertain to promotions and eventsDevelop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rulesDuties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assignedDevelops the global strategy and execution of internal and external communicationDrives the communications strategy to manage our corporate reputation and identityPrimary liaison for all media and public relations agenciesImplements new communication procedures for the entire companyPartners with internal departments to develop effective and professional communications and public relations strategiesInternal Corporate Communications: Branding – Establishes and manages the core communications standardsExecutive Support – Partners with Senior Executives to develop and communicate key company initiatives. Internal Crisis Communication – Provides communication expertise and support in the area of internal crisis situations. (Development of key messages and FAQs)External Crisis Communication - Serves as the primary resource to Senior Leadership in the development and delivery of crisis communicationPhysical Requirements & Attendance:Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job dutiesAdhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behaviorFull time Equal Employment Opportunity
