Director, Basketball Social Media will be responsible for daily content strategy and channel management, directing a team of social media publishers and content creators across the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty, and Brooklyn Basketball social media channels. This role will work collaboratively with the Marketing and Content teams and across the business to develop social media content that champions growth and engagement. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how people consume social content, an eye for detail, and stay up to date on cultural and industry trends.

Check all associated application documentation thoroughly before clicking on the apply button at the bottom of this description.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Lead ideation, content development, and planning for the Nets, Liberty, and Brooklyn Basketball social media accountsDevelop organic social media channel strategies in conjunction with Content leadership and Social Media teamsBe responsible for coverage of Nets and Liberty games and other team events, ensuring quality and consistency of content across accountsCurate, prioritize, and produce content that is consistent with team and brand messagingCatalyze conceptualisation and planning around daily social content, priority content initiatives, and tentpole campaignsClosely collaborate with the Content production team to optimize distribution across channelsSupport the development of content franchises and other social assets for third party partners & prospectsAssist with influencer content strategy and productionPrepare reporting documents for internal/external clients that highlight strategy, execution tactics, and benchmarking against critical metricsIdentify performance trends, process improvements, and findings to share across Nets and LibertyStay on top of social media trends and integrate new opportunities for the Nets, Liberty, and Brooklyn Basketball to expand their reach/impactWHO YOU ARE:7+ years experience in social media role preferredDeep understanding of current and emerging social media platforms and trendsStrong visual eye with regard to the production and curation of social media content (photography, video, graphics)Experience with social media measurement toolsExperience in Adobe Creative SuiteKnowledge of the NBA, WNBA, and basketball culture is beneficialSports, media, or entertainment proven experience is beneficialOutstanding attention to detail and organization skillsExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to work well on a team and independentlyTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:May be required to travel on occasions; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.SALARY RANGE:$120,000-$150,000WORK ENVIRONMENT:Works primarily in an office environment but upon request will be encouraged to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.We are an Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”) Employer.
