Come be part of a great organization in a great state!This position exists to provide the Radio Talking Book with fully trained broadcast personnel. The primary function of this position is to work a rotating schedule covering weekday and weekend morning, daytime, and evening shifts or split shifts when necessary. This position’s responsibilities are to prepare and broadcast material for airing, operate all broadcast equipment, route daily papers to appropriate programs, record programs as necessary, and keep the Radio Talking Book network operational daily throughout the year. This position's overall purpose and mission is to facilitate the achievement of vocational and personal independence by adults and children who are blind or visually handicapped by providing them with necessary information that would not otherwise be accessible.This position requires weekday, daytime availability.This posting may be used to fill multiple positions.**Minimum Qualifications****Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.** **Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.**Associate degree in Communications; Audio Production; Radio, Theatre, or TV Production; Journalism; or other closely related field as determined by the agencyOROne (1) year of experience in radio broadcasting; radio, TV, or audio production; or other closely related field as determined by the agencyApplicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:+ Knowledge of components necessary for quality audio production including the ability to operate recording and broadcasting equipment+ Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Windows, Audacity (or other, similar audio editing software such as Adobe Audition), and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.) to check and respond to emails and create documents+ Skill in human relations to interact with volunteers and persons participating in recording or live programming+ Skill in problem solving to troubleshoot issues with broadcast equipment+ Skill in communication to deliver broadcasts**Reading Exercise**If selected for an interview, a pass/fail reading exercise will be administered during the interview stage, which will require candidates to read articles aloud and complete a pronunciation test.
