Will partner with the director of the Council for the Arts at MIT (CAMIT) on strategic planning for donor events; provide advanced strategizing, project management, logistical planning, onsite management, and coordination with faculty, researchers, and staff for arts initiatives throughout MIT; oversee production teams for campus-wide programs for the Arts at MIT; supervise a team of full-time producers and part-time staff; identify, hire, and supervise contract employees and external vendors; and collaborate on researching, writing, and creating media materials to promote the arts at MIT. Full job description available here (it.edu/opportunities/jobs/) .Job RequirementsREQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; five years’ leadership experience in arts programming, event management, or visual and performing arts curation; experience managing high-profile events; experience leading teams with a range of expertise to execute complex, multi-faceted events; excellent organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; initiative; flexibility; comprehensive knowledge of the Apple computing environment and related software; familiarity with or willingness to learn web content management systems (WordPress preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, Airtable, Dropbox, Excel, and Google Suite; and familiarity with presentation software, e.g., Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Adobe Professional Suite. Must be able to develop, manage, and monitor complex event budgets; manage projects under pressure and across multiple departments, disciplines, and personnel; and work independently and on teams. PREFERRED: master’s degree in visual arts or related field; experience with high profile events in a university/nonprofit setting; and ability to identify, hire, and manage vendors.
