Position Summary:The Installation Technician position has basic experience with installation projects spanning the entertainment industry. This position would be responsible for potentially moving and installing materials, attaching décor, running power, fault finding between pieces of equipment and elements alongside assisting other suppliers and the client as necessary to ensure the setup and integration of all equipment is completed on schedule to facilitate the opening of the attraction.Essential Duties:+ Supervise the installation by the client team of holiday décor and tree wraps+ Oversee the installation of RWS holiday décor including audio and lighting equipment+ Work with the installation teams to fault find problems in relation to data and power connectivity where required.+ Work with the rigging and lighting teams to support suspending and powering of décor+ Observe and callout all safety aspects of the installation+ Work cleanly and efficiently to deliver a stunning final eventMinimum Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: Vocational or technical training – Field of Study: welding, engineering, rigging, carpentry, electronics, audio, construction, electrician. The knowledge needed for this position are often not found in traditional college educations. Technical theatre education will be the closest thing, but so would any education in audio, lighting, electronics, rigging, welding, carpentry, design, 3D modeling software. It’s a myriad of technical skills that makes this a helpful educationEXPERIENCE:1 to 2 years of experience in the technical entertainment field.LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Valid driver’s license required. OSHA and similar construction safety certification(s) helpful.Key Competencies:+ Basic knowledge of general technical system, including but not limited to – Audio signal flow and basic control elements, lighting installation and control, video control elements and integrations, basic theatre knowledge of systems and procedures.+ Knowledge of Christmas décor installations preferrable+ Knowledge of Networking protocols and connectivity required+ Solutions-based troubleshooting+ Friendly and proactive personality+ Ability to interface with clients, coworkers, and labourers to maintain a positive work environment+ Organizational skills – in office and on-site+ Excellent verbal communication skills and customer service - communicates through various mediums such as email, text, phone call, and in-person conversations.+ Awareness of dangers and hazards associated with job functions and willingness to mitigate those risksWork Environment: While on-site, frequent exposure to unfavourable conditions such as all-weather, or working in cramped, very dirty, or unpleasant quarters. The Installation Technician will often be on-site and need to work in hot/humid, cold/freezing, rain, and snow conditions to complete the job before the deadline.Physical Effort: Strenuous – Physical effort represented by frequent handling of heavy objects (approx. 50-75 lbs.) and materials, or heavy hand tools. While on-site the Installation Technician/Stagehand frequently operates heavy equipment and heavy hand tools. Standing for long periods of time and often kneeling and bending.Hazards:Frequent existing or potential hazards. Moderate existing or potential hazards. In office, there is very little exposure to hazards.
