**Job Description:**THE OPPORTUNITYThe Editorial Assistant reports to the Executive Director of licensed media and nonfiction publishing, with a primary focus on proprietary publishing for the Clubs and Fairs distribution channels.This role supports at least 3 Editorial team members in the group on both licensed media publishing and children’s nonfiction. The role is responsible for administrative support as well as project management. The position also handles the purchase and/or development of promotional items (pens, stickers, bookmarks, etc.) for the clubs and fairs.RESPONSIBILITIES+ Data entry and data integrity maintenance for list of over 100 titles annually, ensuring product specs and information are accurate in publishing database and shared Google Drive documents+ Create all P&L forms in online P&L system, track cost and P&L approvals, and assign ISBNs when projects are final and approved.+ Assist with editorial tasks on nonfiction projects, including light fact-checking, researching and working with Subject Matter Experts when needed.+ Maintaining access to all Licensor content databases and approvals systems for Licensed books, including setting up all titles in those systems, submitting concepts for approval, downloading art and other assets when needed, and submitting safety test reports seasonally. Route files through licensor databases to securing approval from partners and assist with routing projects through to production to meet final print deadlines.+ Assist with administrative workflow throughout the department, including creation and routing of all contracts, purchase orders, quote forms, fact sheets, etc.+ Create and maintain Powerpoint presentations with covers, ISBNS, specs, descriptions and sales figures for each seasonal list, including: seasonal brainstorm ideas lists, final seasonal lists, and various themed presentations as needed.+ Coordinate the purchase and/or development of school supplies and promotional incentive items (pens, posters, stickers, bookmarks) for school channels with guidance and supervision.+ Write back cover and catalog copy as requested; create fact sheets and annotations.+ Gather assets for catalog photography & act as liaison with photographer for school channel catalogs and online merchandising team.+ Schedule and organize meetings internally and externally, including creating/sending agendas and taking/distributing follow-up notes.+ General administrative support & light editorial work as needed.WHO WE AREScholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL) is the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books, a leading provider of core literacy curriculum and professional services, and a producer of educational and entertaining children's media.
