SummaryThe Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing various event projects from concept to completion including, but not limited to, invitations, email campaigns, program materials, branded promotional giveaways and deliverables, digital/social graphics and presentations. Many are multi-component projects that include programmatic brand development. The Designer will have a strategic focus on brand consistency, identity development and conceptual design.

They must be able to multi-task and prioritize efficiently, handling multiple projects with various deliverables and overlapping deadlines at one time. They must be able to work independently, as well as collaborate as needed with other designers, writers, marketing colleagues, various departments and firm lawyers.

Focused attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and oral, are a must of this position due the high level of collaboration and a general understanding of the firm’s leadership structure and the functional areas within the Marketing department are required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Common awareness of design principles, creative design and their application to collateral

Support the strategic focus of brand consistency, identity development and their application in conceptual design

Communicate and enforce brand guidelines for design consistency

Understand relevant visual trends and their applications to our brand and collateral

Develop complex creative from concept to completion, communicating their strategic approach and thought process behind the design

Consult with Marketing colleagues and managers to identify and evaluate individual project needs

Collaborate as needed with fellow Designers, Production Artists, Writers and Managers to meet project objectives

Effectively produce final documents by reviewing and prepping files for release. Confirm correct styles applied to document elements and perform quality check for spelling, format and style

Develop digital illustrations and graphics, modify existing vector art, digital images and layout according to specifications

Work in Firm’s email marketing software to upload graphic design files; ensure graphics and links function correctly

Maintain common awareness of design markets within legal industry

Assist with coverage and other duties, as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent relevant work experience with a strong design portfolio.

A minimum 3 years of graphic design experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design, typography for both print and digital media.

Demonstrated advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.

Experience with email marketing software such as Vuture; or a similar program

Knowledge of the rendering of content for the internet and HTML 5 compliancy.

Knowledge of print techniques including offset and digital production process and various stocks.

Experience using design templates and translating design concepts into finished work product.

Portfolio of work, both in print and digital form.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
