Description

Bloomsbury Publishing is looking for an organized, creative, and enthusiastic person to join our Adult Trade Publicity team as a Publicity Assistant. This person will work on a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books.

Responsibilities

Provide general administrative support to the Senior Director of Marketing, Publicity & Communications, Senior Publicity Managers, Senior Publicist, and Associate PublicistWrite press material, pitch letters, emails, and secure national and local media, including print, radio, television, and online outletsManage online publicity, including updating the website's event lists, maintain and build contact lists, and fielding general media requests in a fast-paced environmentHelp execute author appearances and book tours, including arranging travel and creating tour schedulesProcess invoices and update annual budget with department credit card expensesCoordinate galley-to-trade, galley, finished book, monthly paperback, and catalogue mailingsPitch authors available for interview to our extensive radio list and field responsesCreate an office-wide posting of monthly NYC author eventsOffice maintenance including book ordering, galley organization, magazine subscriptions, and other dutiesCollate weekly report on media hits and campaign resultsWork closely with authors as well as marketing, editorial, and sales teamsRequirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be detailed-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work in a collaborative, team environmentInternship experience in publishing preferredProficiency in MS Office Suite, Publicity Assistant, Cision and social media is a plus4-year college degree or equivalent business experience

Location

Candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area, and be able to work in person 2 days per week.

Salary Description

$47,500/yr ($26.10/hour)
