Are you passionate about helping low-income populations in your community? EZRA Multi Service Center is a community-based service center that provides emergency services to seniors, people with mental illness, people with disabilities, people living with chronic illness, parents and children, people who are homeless, and other people in need. In this position, you will recruit, train, and schedule volunteers, ensuring smooth operations. You will also manage our online presence, maintain our materials and reports, and twice per week, you will get to do direct service work staffing the JUF Uptown Café. The salary range for this role is $43,000-$45,000.Weekly Schedule: Sunday: 9am-12:30pmMonday and Tuesday: 9am-5:45pmWednesday: 9am-5pmThursday: 9am-7:30pmWhat you'll be doing:Volunteer Coordination Recruit, maintain, train, and schedule volunteers and maintain record-keeping on volunteer activity.Develop and expand EZRA's volunteer opportunities, coordinating with JUF TOV Volunteer Network as appropriate.CommunicationsServe as a spokesperson at various community events as needed and appropriate.Maintain website and social media accounts. Coordinate social media/general outreach plans for each department and work with staff to execute goals.Create, design, and update publicity materials, PowerPoint presentations.Assist in preparing and distributing EZRA Annual Report.Prepare all aspects of monthly client newsletter and monthly volunteer newsletter.Other DutiesStaff the JUF Uptown Café on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.Serve as occasional back-up as needed for programs or Uptown Café.Actively participate in meetings.What you need to succeed: 1-3 years' experience in social service or related direct service field.Bachelor's degree (in communications, social work or related field) is strongly preferred, but not required.Interest in working for an agency with an urban Jewish social justice agenda.Must have knowledge of social media best practices.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn other software systems. Knowledge of Canva and Mailchimp is a plus.Ability to work in a calm and collected manner.Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and a high level of accuracy in data entry and reporting.Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with a broad range of individuals.Empathy and sensitivity in working with low-income populations.Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., phone, computer), sit, stand, bend, twist and/or walk on a frequent basis, and physical stamina to be mobile for long periods.Ability to network with volunteers, congregations, community organizations, and other Jewish entities.What you'll love about us:At JUF, you can be part of one of the largest non-profit social welfare institutions in Illinois.
