The Membership Communications Program Manager is responsible for the design and execution of print, telecommunications, and other communications campaigns for Minnesota Public Radio’s and American Public Media’s membership fundraising programs, and for the management of vendors who support the implementation of these campaigns. This role provides key support to maintain communications schedules and deploy messaging strategies across channels and segments.

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Manager, Regional Fundraising, and general oversight of the Sr. Manager, National Fundraising, this role acquires, stewards, and upgrades members through direct mail, telecommunications, and other fundraising channels. This position is part of the MPR/APM Membership team, which annually raises $25M+ in loyalty revenues.

Expected Compensation Range : $67,000 - $70,000/yr. The exact salary is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.

Your Responsibility:

Collaborating with the Sr. Manager of Regional Fundraising, and Sr. Manager, of National Fundraising, translate fundraising objectives and strategies into robust direct mail and telecommunications campaigns that include goals, metrics, timelines, budgets, channel selection, and segmentation. Track and evaluate spend and results.Write, edit, and proof copy for direct mail solicitation campaigns. Manage vendors in the execution of campaigns. Collaborate with membership team members to coordinate efforts with other communications channels and campaigns. Monitor, evaluate, and respond to results.Write, edit, and proof copy for telemarketing scripts and other telecommunications campaigns. Manage vendors in the execution of campaigns. Collaborate with membership team members to coordinate efforts with other communications channels and campaigns.Write, edit, and proof stewardship and other ad hoc membership communications copy as requested. Collaborate with the membership team and manage vendors to implement.Consistently apply core messaging across membership communications. Support the maintenance of messaging and case statement documents to ensure alignment with Marketing brand standards and Philanthropic Development communications standards. Collaborate with the donor relations team to ensure cohesive messaging strategies are implemented across member communications, for example, in acknowledgment and receipting.Coordinate the approval, execution, and recording of vendor contracts and invoicing for mail and telecommunications vendors. Collaborate with Member and Audience Services and MPR/APM Membership leaders to provide contract management.Develop data-informed campaign segmentation. Work with large data sets to perform analysis, data validation, and transformation for membership campaigns. Utilize Salesforce NPSP to create reports and data sets.Establish, utilize, and continuously improve robust processes and documentation for communications campaign operations and follow processes and procedures established within the Philanthropic Development Center.Collaborate with the membership team and Philanthropic Development communications partners to coordinate timing and segmentation of communication pieces.With Sr. Manager, Regional Fundraising, Sr. Manager, National Fundraising, and Audience Insights partners, establish, execute, and evaluate test and learn experiments to continuously evaluate and improve campaign performance. Work with Audience Insights and Development Operations to track and report on campaign results.Maintain a high degree of organization and accuracy across multiple projects with overlapping deadlines. Maintain robust planning documentation.Communicate effectively with internal partners and vendors to execute project plans and provide regular status updates.Collaborate with the Mid Level Giving team to design and implement cohesive upgrade strategies for mail and telecommunications.Actively contribute to the ongoing development of new strategies to grow member numbers and revenue.Keep current with best practices and innovations in fundraising, CRM, and communications as they apply to AMPG’s work.Maintain and continuously improve a shared communications calendar.Provide support during on-air member drives and membership special events as requested.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability and prior success in executing direct mail and/or telemarketing campaignsExperience developing copy specifically for direct mail and/or phone scriptsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize responsibilities and goals, communicate with clarity, motivate others, and enlist them to meet goals.Demonstrated track record in meeting financial goals and developing strategies to maximize resourcesDemonstrated experience managing vendors and contracted servicesDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office productsDemonstrated proficiency in Salesforce NPSP.Reporting To This Position:
