Job Summary:

The Kinetex, LVT and EF Contract flooring designer is responsible to focus on the creation of product designs that contribute to the development of product categories including carpet, Kinetex and LVT that meet the aesthetic needs and design trends, creating sales opportunities that will support our goal of top line growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Research and follow market trends, manufacturing equipment capacity, and software as it relates to color and pattern development.Manage product development from research, design, color development, sampling, up to support of product launch.Manage product development to meet delivery time and support product launch target dates.Develop products with cohesive collections.Create presentations that tell the design story for inclusion in product launch materials.Collaborate with Marketing on photo shoot needs for product launch marketing materials.Attend and develop materials for design, trade and sales events.Work closely with Sales and Market Development on creation of new products related to EF Contract, Kinetex and LVT.Consult with internal colleagues and customers in the field across varied geographies to gain feedback on the development and validation of multiple new product offerings with defined launch dates.Contribute to creation and sustainability of a collaborative design studio environment.Develop product prototypes for evaluation and feedback from leadership and customer base.Perform product training and presentations to multiple levels of leadership and to large groups effectively.Active participation and membership in relevant design organizations.Generate computer renderings for visual aids.Participate in product line reviews as needed.Other tasks and projects as business needs dictate or as assigned by leadership.Experience/Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree within textiles design or related field is preferredAn understanding of design and color principles/concepts is requiredProven artistic achievement and a broad-based design portfolio is requiredMinimum 1-3 years' experience in the development of flooring products is preferred. Open to no formal experience.Proficient in Photoshop and Windows Office SuiteStrong understanding of color theoryAbility to match colors on the computer and score above average on the Munsell color testProficient in designing patterns and constructions for a variety of machinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to travel and work overtime as neededOther Requirements:

Must work and collaborate effectively with a teamAbility to work independently, set priorities and handle multiple tasks with concentration and accuracyMust be able to manage work schedule to meet product development deadlinesMust have a strong work ethic and work well with the teamMaster proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, and other Creative Suite Digital Design skillsProficiency in Ned Graphics- Texcelle &Tuft, a nice to have familiarity of the softwareProficiency in Microsoft products, e-mail, and routine database activityProduct setup, may work in hot/cold temps and heavy liftingAbility to lift, stand, reach, stoop, and bend multiple times throughout the workdayMust be able to travel by plane as needed to attend meetings, or travel in fieldMust be able to lift up to 30lbs on occasion
