Description

Position Summary:

LX Hausys' award-winning Creative team is looking for a product designer with a passion for designing interior flooring and surface solutions for the residential and commercial markets. Our designers handle the complete design process for solid surfaces and hard surface flooring patterns and color palettes, from initial concept through to manufacturing and final execution, including the development of marketing materials and sales training support. Responsibilities include conducting market research on color and design trends, delivering product presentations, and participating in industry design and trade shows. This design role will focus extensively on developing digital assets to ensure a cohesive and coordinated product approach across the LX Hausys portfolio of brands. Our designers demonstrate a creative and innovative mindset, adeptly manage multiple projects, exhibit strong time management skills, and thrive in a collaborative global team setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

Our designers primarily concentrate on hard-surface flooring design (70%) while also leading the style direction for our solid surfaces which includes countertops and wall applications (30%). This position will concentrate on product design for these categories as well as focusing 40% of their time on creating digital assets.

• Develop innovative products for commercial and residential applications, through all phases of design, from concept to launch. This includes trend research, concept development, working with global design teams, prototyping, color development, and supporting the execution of product launch materials and sales training.

• Manage projects to ensure timely completion of key dates, deliverables, and product launch schedules.

• Define design and color direction based on market research, experience, and knowledge to lead in design and performance.

• Work directly with customers on product and pattern design, color line development, and fabrication of new styles.

• Create digital presentations and assets that communicate the design story for commercialization and marketing content.

• Design digital assets including room scene photography and other digital media to support new introductions and a coordinated approach across all LX Hausys brands

• Represent the Creative Team at customer events to introduce new collections and capture feedback.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration with teams including product management, global design teams, marketing, and sales to ensure alignment and execution of product strategies. Interface with Atlanta Corporate Office and Design Center in South Korea as required.

• Work in tandem with the company's global design teams to ensure the category's products reflect design leadership principles, the company's brand positioning, market needs, and are designed in a manner that both facilitates efficient manufacture and coordinates effectively with the Company's other product categories.

• Develop cohesive product collections across all of LX Hausys' brands with strong visual language elements.

• Independently lead multiple complex projects and mentor other designers and interns.

• Travel for market research, customer visits, presentations, and participation in industry events and trade shows.

• Present and communicate product design vision and offerings to customers, sales, and management.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

• BS in design related field

• Must have excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience developing digital assets

• Experience in hard surface flooring product development, with a proven track record of success in designing, developing and launching products

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across geographies, functions, and different hierarchical levels of the organization

• Exceptional design aesthetic, versatility and awareness of design trends and industry innovations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Travel and Physical Demands:

• Position requires sitting at a desk working on a computer for at least 2/3 of time.

• Position requires minimal lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Position requires regular and reliable attendance.

• Position requires bi-monthly after hours working needs to collaborate with global teams.

• This position is based at our North American Headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA and will require domestic as well as occasional international travel.

Based upon the experience level of the candidate selected, the position may be filled as Designer or Senior Designer.
