Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and implement a strategic, overall marketing and communications program.

Participate in annual marketing meeting with ownership and vendors and present marketing initiatives for the year.

Create supplemental marketing plans for tenants as requested including free and paid initiatives to support and promote the brand.

Create enhanced marketing plans for the MDD as needed.

Work within the allocated budget and consider the goals in determining best media partners (print/outdoor/digital) to create a yearly media plan.

Negotiate rates, schedule and added value with media partners.

Key contact for all publications we currently advertise and media companies.

POC for all advertising cold calls. Review and respond to advertising proposals.

Research and secure new opportunities for advertising in local, national and global markets within the advertising budget and effectively reach our target audience.

Oversee strategy for advertising on all digital platforms, inclusive of SEO, Google advertising, social media advertising, and other digital advertising opportunities.

Work with internal graphics team and branding agency partner to determine creative for each initiative. Provide approval on all creative.

Determine marketing and creative needs (such as ads, direct mail pieces, eblasts, etc.) and supply creative direction to internal graphics team and/or branding agency partner, prepare briefs, review creative and give feedback to ensure creative and ad campaigns are aligned with the current marketing strategy and effectively reach the desired target audience.

POC with branding agency, managing communication and budget allocated to branding agency projects. Attend/lead branding agency calls, respond to branding agency inquiries, review and give feedback on all branding agency projects.

Key Marketing contact for Ad Campaigns with branding agency team. Assist with budgeting and scheduling, review photographer + casting recommendations for photo shoots. Assist with payments, invoices and post-production wrap up.

Attend calls with the Events and Cultural Programming teams to determine marketing/promo needs.

POC with Events and/or Cultural Programming regarding third party or tenant initiatives that require marketing support.

Work with in-house curator on new/existing Cultural Programming Initiatives and how to best market cultural programming.

Create and execute marketing plans and budgets for all MDD concepted events and cultural programming initiatives.

Oversee all marketing relating to events and cultural programming including costs, placements, collateral timelines and distribution. Also responsible for approving creative, copy, reviewing invitations, etc.

Participate in Sponsorship / Partner meetings. Create, review and edit decks as needed.

POC in the Marketing department both at the corporate and store level.

Work with Brand’s Corporate Marketing teams on supporting their marketing initiatives and brand exposure.

Key marketing contact when a brand first opens in MDD. Guide and assist brands in marketing and promotional support.

Maintain an open line of communication with store managers.

Conduct store visits, gather traffic/demographic info, gather feedback on MDD initiatives and create reports to be circulated among executive team.

Field inquiries from store managers and corporate teams regarding tenant opening updates/construction/events/etc.

Work with Associate Director of Digital Marketing and property management in creating the monthly tenant newsletter that goes out to all tenants of the MDD.

Send out invitations to events/marketing updates to tenants as needed/requested.

Work closely with VP Marketing on budgets, reallocations, forecasting, etc. Responsible for oversight of marketing budget.

Review and approve invoices in accounting software platform system.

Prepare quarterly report for the Marketing Department that is shared with key executives and stakeholders.

Oversee and ensure competitive research and demographics are up-to-date.

Participate in PR calls, provide direction as needed. Assist with media requests. Review/edit press releases.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in marketing, advertising, journalism or business administration. Seven to ten years of marketing or advertising experience.

Preferred:

Previous experience in marketing for luxury brands and/or a shopping center with a strong focus on luxury marketing.

Position requires flexibility in working hours.

Excellent organizational skills.

Understanding of existing retail offerings, demographics in trade area and regional market.

Strong written and verbal skills.

Ability to write, read, analyze and interpret reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, tenants, clients, customers and the general public.

Strategic planning and thinking.

Creativity and innovation.

Other Skills and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, budgeting software, asset management software, Web/Internet/e-mail technologies and general computing technology.

Ability to prepare and manage a budget.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to daily job responsibilities.

Ability to negotiate with outside vendors to arrive at working arrangements beneficial to the center and its initiatives.
