**Description:****JOB ANNOUNCEMENT****ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER - LIBRARY OPERATIONS AND PATRON EXPERIENCE****CHICAGO PUBLIC LIBRARY****Number of Positions: 1****Starting Salary: $118,128**Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Library Operations and Patron Experience, the Assistant Commissioner of Patron Experience provides leadership and management of a team of district chiefs responsible for the patron experience and public service operations administration, and supervision of a team of district chiefs responsible for the patron experience and public service operations for the library system that supports the library’s mission, vision and strategic priorities. Direct the development and implementation of department goals, procedures, and annual work plans and establish levels of expected performance and productivity.Manage the allocation of resources and service levels to meet patron needs. Facilitate implementation of solutions that improve efficiencies, reduce, or eliminate barriers to services, and increase patron satisfaction. Evaluate, create, implement and review library policy and use guidelines with specific responsibility toward safety and equity to support safe, welcoming spaces. Monitor library trends and innovations and engage department managers in analysis and evaluation for providing new services or resources and implementing improvements in methods and processes. Monitor facility maintenance and building needs. Provide mentoring and coaching. Participate in system and citywide projects and initiatives. Work closely and collaboratively with all members of CPL’s senior leadership team, contributing to the development of long-range plans and collaboratively make decisions and implement change. Prepare work related reports. Represent CPL in meetings and partnerships with local, state and federal government, civic groups and professional organizations. Perform other duties as assigned.**LOCATION: 400 S. State Street – Harold Washington Library Center****DAYS OFF: Two days off per week****SHIFT:** **Monday through Friday 9:00 – 5:00. Will be required to work evenings and weekends/be on call based on operational needs****HOURS: 35 hours per week to be scheduled during normal unit hours.
