The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for planning and posting social media content to advance the Archdiocese of Detroit's mission and increase reach and engagement through various social media platforms. This role involves creating and curating content, managing social media accounts, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize social media campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation and Scheduling:• Assist in developing and creating engaging content (text, images, videos) for social media platforms.• Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools.• Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and voice.• Optimize content creation, SEO, social cards, and layout.• Proofread online communications for authenticity, accuracy, and clarity.

2. Community Engagement:• Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions.• Respond to inquiries and engage with followers professionally.• Foster positive interactions and build relationships with the online community.

3. Campaign Support:• Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns.• Track campaign performance and gather data for analysis.• Coordinate with the Marketing Team and other Curia departments, offices, and ministries to gather content and information for social media.

4. Analytics and Reporting:• Monitor social media metrics and analytics.• Provide regular reports on social media performance and insights.• Use data to suggest improvements and optimize content.

5. Trend Monitoring:• Stay updated on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.• Identify opportunities to incorporate new trends into social media strategy.

6. Other Content Related Tasks:• Assist with copywriting and editing for newsletter and website, and other editorial projects as needed.• Coordinate and support the production and publication of podcasts and live streams.• Add and edit website content.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.• Proven ability to create compelling written, visual, and multimedia content that resonates with target audiences. • Effective customer service skills.• Exceptional organizational abilities, capable of handling multiple projects independently with close attention to detail.• Strong ability to work collaboratively with various Curia staff and stakeholders.• Successfully executed marketing campaigns across social media channels, creating compelling content that inspires audience engagement and action.• Deep understanding of current best practices and innovative campaigns in both Church and secular contexts.• Strong knowledge of web, digital, creative, and media tools and processes, with experience in managing multi-channel media projects.• Proven ability to work effectively, decisively, and professionally under pressure and tight deadlines.

Education and Experience Requirements• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field.• 2 years of previous experience in social media, marketing, or a related role is preferred.

Travel Required• Will travel throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit as needed.
