Art Director - Unreal Engine Short SeriesTo Apply:Please submit a Resume and Portfolio / Reel to OddJobs@Job Overview:Manage and lead a team of 2D artists in creating and completing props, environment, and character visuals for an Unreal CG preschool series. The Art Director is a communication point between the technical, story, and asset departments, overseeing and shepherding the creation of delightful and high-quality 2D and 3D designs.Location:Glendale, CAHybrid Work Schedule (in office Tuesdays-Thursdays)Duties and Responsibilities:Create art for series needs, including but not limited to; initial environment, prop, and character vis devProvide written and drawn notes for 2D and CG artWork with the Director to ensure designs work for story needsAttend reviews with the Technical Director and Director to work inside Unreal Engine to achieve a cohesive visual look and feelBe available during work hours for meetings and communicationProvide feedback and creative direction to 2D and CG asset teamsBe available for discussions as needed with the visual creative teamTrain junior design staff on new technology and new softwareTake responsibility across all aspects: meeting project deadlines, supporting the creative team and fostering a collaborative environment among team membersApplicants must have:5 years of experience in Animation, Games, or related industry2 years of experience in Art DirectionExcellent and strong eye for design and ability to match an existing visual styleProficient knowledge of Photoshop or similar design softwareAbility to successfully manage time, workflow, and schedulePreferred Qualifications:Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine software and its capabilities, including but not limited to; lighting and post-processingBasic understanding of Perforce and asset management processesKnowledge of Animate CC is a plusProfessional Characteristics:Strong leadership capabilitiesExcellent communication skillsDetail-oriented, has good follow-through, can multitask, and works well under tight deadlinesCuriosity and willingness to innovate and learn new processesSelf-motivated and proficient at prioritizing tasksAbility to creatively problem-solve as production needs ariseAbility to prioritize tasks as project needs shiftOrganized and thoroughEnthusiastic and collaborative attitudeSalary Range:$2,700-$2,800/weekPlease note this job description may not be a comprehensivelist of all duties and responsibilities that are required for this job.
