We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining user assistance infrastructure, including how-to sections, FAQs, and Help sections. This role involves updating, editing, and proofreading various written materials such as product manuals, user manuals, how-to guides, and FAQs. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, developers, and the product team to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.

This position is hybrid (On-Site 2 days a week in Bethesda, MD).

Make sure to apply quickly in order to maximise your chances of being considered for an interview Read the complete job description below.Responsibilities:·Create and build out user assistance infrastructure, including how-to sections, FAQs, and Help sections.·Develop intuitive, user-friendly documentation that enhances the user experience and facilitates the use of our applications.·Documentation Creation and Maintenance:·Update, edit, and proofread written materials such as product manuals, user manuals, how-to guides, and FAQs.·Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with company standards and guidelines.·Work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, developers, and the product team to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.·Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.·Participate in meetings and discussions to understand project requirements and timelines.·Review and edit documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.·Conduct regular audits of existing documentation to identify and correct inaccuracies or outdated information.·Collaborate with Agile teams, participating in regular sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.·Ensure documentation is updated in alignment with iterative progress and continuous feedback.·Assist in the development of detailed design documents, including system architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and API specifications.·Incorporate applicable NIST SP 800-53 controls into secure coding standards and best practices within documentation.·Document DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to support secure, high-quality, and efficient application deployments.Qualifications:·Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.·Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the IT or software development industry.·Strong understanding of technical concepts.·Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.·Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.·Proficiency with documentation tools and software.·Strong collaboration and communication skills.·Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred.Preferred Qualifications:·Master’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.·Experience documenting cloud services, particularly Azure App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB.·Certification in technical writing or related fields.·Previous experience in a similar role within a government or healthcare organization.·Familiarity with NIH/HHS/NIST security requirements.
