Description of Work Unit

The Department of Clinical Sciences mission is to assure the health and productivity of animals to meet societal needs through high quality educational programs for professional veterinary medical students, graduate veterinarians, and the public through a faculty and veterinary medical center of excellence, and to advance and disseminate comparative biomedical knowledge in an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Summary

The position includes assembling and writing research grant proposals and research manuscripts. The end result expected is the submission of manuscripts for publication and grant proposals for funding.

Additional duties may include revising proposal documents and assisting in writing, revising, and submitting funded grant progress reports.

Position Minimum Qualifications

PhD in biomedical engineering or related field

Experience in writing submitted NIH proposals

5+ papers as 1st author in journals

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in research grant proposal writing for ARPA -H

Experience in research grant proposal writing for foundations

h-index = 10+

Experience with creating scientific graphics (i.e., illustrations for figures in scientific manuscripts or grant proposals)
