Come join us!What you'll doCloudflare is looking for a Sr. Director or Director, Executive Communications, to join our team and support communications for our co-founder, President, & COO. This role will lead and advise on all aspects of communications pertaining to the Office of the President & COO, including related media relations, speaking engagements, public appearances, employee communications, stakeholder engagement, social media, and personal branding. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with exceptional writing skills, speechwriting, and storytelling ability with impeccable attention to detail. This role offers the opportunity to be a strategic advisor and partner to collaborate closely with a top executive in crafting a strategic communications platform to drive organizational objectives internally and externally. This role will require regular in-person meetings and planning sessions with the office of the President & COO team in our San Francisco office.This senior communications leadership role will be a trusted advisor and partner to the office of the President & COO, and will be responsible for developing and delivering communications strategy and content. This role requires disciplined execution and meticulous attention to detail to drive success for our executive and the greater company. We are looking for someone who can manage the comprehensive comms program—someone who can ruthlessly prioritize competing priorities, is always two steps ahead in a planning process, and can roll up their sleeves to support a variety of tasks and initiatives for one of Cloudflare’s co-founders. This person should bring rigorous attention to detail and a sense of urgency to everything they do. The role will include constant cross-functional collaboration with various business stakeholders, and will require travel for various work trips— events, speaking engagements, media engagements, customer meetings etc. This role reports to the Vice President, Global Head of Communications, and will partner closely with Cloudflare’s co-founder, President & COO.Essential functions for this role:Leads all aspects of communications pertaining to the Office of the President & COO, including related media relations, speaking engagements, public appearances, employee communications, stakeholder engagement, social media, planning, and personal branding/image. Has a clear vision of the right communications strategy and advises on all aspects of professional and personal brand development.Manages and strategically plans all aspects of how the executive prepares for, shows up at, and maximizes her presence at appearances, events, and communications-focused engagements.Creates executive messaging, narratives, speeches, and content across internal and external communication channels.Leads and coordinates the development of COO/President executive materials for internal town halls, and events, which involves working closely with stakeholders, and crafting various formats of background, briefing, and event prep materials to set her up for success.Supports Cloudflare’s overall communications program, while working closely with key stakeholders, to streamline/curate strategic content and narratives. Ensures alignment with Cloudflare’s evolving messaging, thought leadership trends, and announcements.Leads and secures executive speaker placements for top-tier public engagements and events.
