This individual will support the OIT’s Communication Infrastructure Management team, oversee daily operations, manage team members, and ensure the smooth functioning of the university’s phone systems and related services. The role involves a combination of financial analysis, team management, customer support, and project management.Summary of Responsibilities include:Budget and Financial Management:+ Assist in updating and analyzing budget requests and financial updates for the OIT’s Fiscal Management team.+ Interpret financial data from internal and external sources to support budget planning and decision-making.​Team Management:+ Supervise and manage one or more team members, ensuring effective workflow and productivity.Telecommunications Management:+ Set up and manage billing for cell phones and desk phones.+ Configure daily moves, adds, and changes within the telephone system.+ Maintain accurate records of telephone systems by entering and verifying data within call accounting software.+ Perform troubleshooting for minor issues with analog and IP-based telephone systems.Customer Support and Communication:+ Manage communication requests, work orders, and budget approvals.+ Provide training and customer support to faculty, staff, and students.+ Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and collect feedback for service enhancement.+ Serve as the primary contact for university cell phone accounts.System and Project Management:+ Oversee and provide backup for the main switchboard operator for FAU.+ Help manage customer service aspects of project management for minor and major projects.+ Coordinate with vendors for system management, implementation, and problem resolution.+ Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, data integrity, and security.Operational Support:+ Support the director with daily operational tasks and directives.+ Manage inventory and assist with operational directives for project execution and reporting.+ Serve as a Workday timekeeper and manage property location information and surplus activities.Collaboration and Policy Development:+ Collaborate with IT teams and university departments to ensure seamless communication and operations.+ Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.The Office of Information Technology at Florida Atlantic University seeks scholars who are committed to supporting the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds and to thoughtfully engaging all communities in higher education.
