To be eligible for appointment under NY HELPS, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications below:Non-Competitive qualifications:Promotional: one year of competitive or non-competitive service as a Multimedia Production Program Specialist 1, Video Production Specialist, Photographer 4, Graphic Designer 2, or Assistant Supervisor Audiovisual Training and Production.Open Competitive:Seven years of experience producing multimedia communication projects using elements of audiovisual production, or graphic design for web, or graphic design for print.A bachelor degree in video and/or TV and/or film production, web interface design, graphic design, communications design, or a closely related field may substitute for four years of experience.Competitive qualifications:Reassignment - currently in the title and an employee of DEC; orReinstatement eligible - previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis.OrTransfer Eligible-One year of permanent competitive service as Salary Grade 21 or higher and eligible for transfer under section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as a Economic Development Assnt Publications Manager. 55-b/55-c candidates must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications listed above and include with their resume or application, a copy of the letter from Civil Service which indicates approval for the 55-b/55-c program.Duties Description This position is located within the Bureau of Multimedia Services. Job duties include:- Provide supervision to lower-level audio, visual, graphic artist, and administrative staff- Develop unit priorities. Determine and assign work assignments and review production schedules.- Create and review preliminary scripts for multimedia productions. - Coordinate production schedules with staff and talent. - Direct and supervise the editing process and evaluate work products. - Write and review quote requests and invitations for bids for multimedia service contracts and purchases. Answer vendor questions regarding contract specifications. Ensure all meets desired specifications and deadlines. - Review and approve hardware and software solutions proposed by staff and suggest alternatives as necessary. - Develop and train staff in multimedia design, hardware, and software solutions. - Oversee marketing strategies for all assigned discipline areas.Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.Travel may be required.Overnight travel may be required.Weekends and holidays may be required.
