Primary PurposeAhold Delhaize USA, the parent company of the largest grocery retail group on the East Coast, including Food Lion, The GIANT Company, Giant Food, Hannaford, and Stop and Shop, is seeking a UX/UI Design Strategist to join the Enterprise Research & Design team.

As a UX/UI Design Strategist, you'll draw on your business acumen and expertise in design thinking, service design, and UX/UI to serve as a master collaborator who transforms holistic experiences across a portfolio of products and services.

People will be at the center of your everyday work. By engaging with users and collaborating closely with stakeholders and senior leadership, your ability to listen, empathize, and advocate for their needs will be the driving force behind satisfying end-user experiences.

In this role, you'll embark on a journey of discovery, framing problems with your creative and analytical thinking. You'll utilize research, data, and industry best practices to make strategic design decisions. You will deeply understand and champion the needs of our end users - people.

Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesWithin the scope of key projects and programs, you'll contextualize your work within the broader business outlook while integrating your skills in these areas:

• Research & Insights: Exemplifying best practices for data collection, synthesis, and insights delivery in order to frame problems and drive value-based decisions through research.• User Experience Design: Leveraging user-centric methods to orient underlying models with business strategy, technical feasibility and end-user needs.• User Interface Design: Illustrating strategic thinking and understanding of advanced principles of design at a holistic systems level through prototyping, interaction design, and compelling visual design• Subject Matter Expertise: Applying and connecting their expertise about the end users they support, Product fundamentals, the technology landscape at ADUSA, and the business of grocery retail to their work• Process Leadership: Driving the agenda with cross-functional stakeholders and peers on the process and approach for identifying end-user needs and solving problems.• People Proficiency: Elevating our team's culture, broadening and deepening trust with their internal network, developing formal leadership and mentorship skills, and regularly supporting recruiting and onboarding.• Portfolio Execution: Setting their own direction and coordinating the efforts of others to deliver quality work; occasionally asking for help on challenging or ambiguous assignments to define approach, achieve intended outcomes and exhibit team values.

QualificationsUX Design principles and deliverables, including human-centered approaches, collaboration, generative user research methods, user personas, service blueprints, information architecture, prototyping, knowledge of product development lifecycle and results orientation.

• You have a master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Information Science or a relevant field (relevant bachelor's degree and equivalent certifications from an accredited program in UX/UI, human-computer interaction, information science, digital media, product design, or on-the-job experience will be considered).• You are an advanced designer with five or more years of relevant work experience, leading others directly or indirectly, with design, project management and development processes, including Agile/Scrum.• You facilitate workshops and have a knack for gaining consensus among large, diverse groups.• You more than know your way around collaborative design and prototyping tools, such as Mural, Miro, Figma, InVision, Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite.• You have (and can't wait to share) in-depth knowledge of design research methods, user interface models, application design and website functionality. • You've tamed the Format Pane in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and know which tool is best when sharing ideas with different groups.• You know enough about front-end languages (like HTML), computer-information systems, data-analysis fundamentals and data-visualization tools (like Power BI) to hold up your end of a conversation with engineers and analysts.

Preferred Qualifications• You're a born detective with design chops for days, a storyteller, an end-to-end thinker, a problem-solver who can untangle complexity to create something that works.• You are insatiably curious, positively resilient, intentionally inclusive, and unapologetically creative. You do the right thing and know how to put fun in scope.• Post-graduate degree, advanced training and/or certifications in relevant field of study• Three or more years of experience in Agile teams and/or product-based operating model• Experience in retail or grocery• Experience leading others
