Dyslexia Alliance for Black Children (DABC) is 501(c)(3) national nonprofit organization that has a mission to eliminate the amplified inequities for Black children experiencing unaddressed Dyslexia and related learning dis/abilities. Founded in 2020, DABC started as a Board composed of parents, educators, and advocates mobilized to address the urgent issues facing Black children with dyslexia, language-based reading disorders, and reading difficulties. DABC has since become an established thought leader and catalyst for change. Through impactful workshops, family literacy programs, and partnerships with educators, DABC has reached hundreds of families and professionals, creating a powerful alliance that advocates for equity in literacy.This is an immediate hire. If interested, please submit your application as soon as possible.Job Responsibilities:As the head of our sales, you will manage marketing and sales with the primary goal of driving sales of our professional development programs, conferences, and parent workshops, and membership programs. Key responsibilities include:Marketing & Consultative Sales : Develop and deliver compelling and informative presentations or materials to key decision makers including school administrators, educators, nonprofit leaders, and parent groups that clearly convey the importance and benefits of our workshops, focusing on improving educator awareness, training, and parental involvement. Develop and implement digital and social media marketing strategy.Conference : Lead conference sales, sponsorship and vendor strategies. Develop high impact marketing materials. Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan.Growth:

Identify areas for growth and expansion in the market.Targeted Outreach : Identify and proactively reach out to high-potential schools, districts, charter schools, and community organizations, particularly those serving Black students, to promote our offerings.Proposal Development : Craft tailored proposals and communications that highlight how our workshops can meet the specific needs of schools and communities, leading to meaningful and impactful partnerships.Strategic Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the goals of the schools and districts in your territory, ensuring successful outcomes.Account Management : Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, track progress, and manage sales activity using a data management tool. Ensure that all account information is accurate and current.Market Insight : Provide regular feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to help shape the direction of our programs and offerings.Networking and Relationship Building : Engage in networking activities to build strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including school leaders, educators, and parent groups, to create a pipeline of future opportunities.Coordination : Schedule and book workshops. Provide facilitation support to DABC presenters, as needed.

What We’re Looking For:Commitment to DABC’s core values and mission.A successful track record in business development, sales, or account management within the K-12 education sector, with a particular focus on professional development or parent programs.Knowledge of the challenges faced by Black students with dyslexia and a strong commitment to advocating for equitable educational practices.Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with educational stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, and parent groups.Ability to understand client needs and propose effective solutions that lead to successful sales and long-term partnerships.Familiarity with the educational landscape in the targeted areas, with existing contacts in K-12 education being a significant advantage.Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales goals, closing deals, and managing a pipeline of opportunities within complex educational settings.

Minimum Requirement:3 years of experience in the education market.Strong sales and marketing background.Excellent communication skills both orally and written.Experience leading business development with success.Core Values:Our core values, established from the founding of this organization in 2020, are deeply rooted in equity and dismantling systems of oppression.
