This position will be based out of our Pasadena, California office and is a hybrid position with 4 days a week on site.

Summary:

Responsible for supporting overall business image, strategies and objectives through internal and external communications tasks and contributing to departmental projects and activities.

Job Duties:

Communications StrategyContributes to the design and implementation of a strategic communications program that expands and enhances the company's reputation and builds greater awareness and alignment with external and internal stakeholdersInforms and updates employees on corporate strategy, operating goals and other updates, and improves information flow and cross-functional collaborationPartners with department leaders to support their communications needs, including scientific/medical presentation development and reviewContent Development and Channel Management

Develops corporate content, including press releases, scripts, website content, Q&A documentation and presentationsManages external website, social media platforms, employee intranet, town hall meetings and internal newsletter, including drafting content and coordinating with contributorsApplies brand guidance for the creation of Xencor-branded materials and ensures complianceBroad Communications Support

Supports day-to-day activities, events and special projects of the Corporate Communications and Investor Relations and Corporate Strategy departments, coordinates schedules and prepares background materials for spokespeopleMaintains investor relations and public disclosure databasesSupports employee engagement activities in partnership with Human ResourcesOversees media monitoring and reviews news sources for competitive information, industry trends and strategic opportunitiesAdheres to all department and company-wide policies regarding conduct, performance and proceduresPerforms other duties as required.Education/Experience/Skills:

Position requires a bachelor's degree in business, biology or other scientific field, communications, journalism, advertising/public relations, or related field and at least 6 years of communications experience in a corporate and/or agency setting within the biopharmaceutical industry.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skillsAbility to translate scientific and medical information into clear, compelling messages and copyStrong understanding of the correlation between business strategy and communicationsAbility to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with external constituenciesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExceptional project management skillsStrong attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, WordPress and social media platformsPrior experience with graphic design is a plusAbility to work after hours, including weekends as neededAbility to travel to investor/medical/scientific conferences, as neededAbility to demonstrate competencies applicable for job based on Xencor's Leadership Competency ModelPhysical, Mental and Environment Demands:

The physical, mental and working environment demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this position.

The physical demands of the office are normally associated with extended amounts of time sitting and using office equipment, including a computer, keyboard and mouse, which can cause muscle strain. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Periodic light lifting of supplies and materials may apply.

Work for this position is generally performed at Xencor's worksite and requires full-time commitment.

Expected Base Salary Range: $144,000 - $168,250

The actual salary will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, including skills, competencies, education and experience.
