Description of Work

The Domestic Marketing section of the NCDA&CS is seeking a dynamic Event Planner to manage major marketing events throughout the year and act as a liaison with the NC Specialty Food Association. This fast-paced role demands excellence, multitasking, and attention to detail. You will work under the Marketing Manager, coordinating events like the Got to Be NC Pavilion at the NC State Fair and the Flavors of Carolina show. Responsibilities include marketing, liaising with venues, managing contracts, and ensuring accurate event setups. Additionally, you will support events such as the NC Mountain State Fair and the Got to Be NC Golf Classic, requiring travel across North Carolina and on-site presence during events. To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:Experience in marketing, sales, and promotion.Experience in event planning.Must possess excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.Knowledge of budgeting and purchasing.Extensive knowledge of agriculture and the food industry is necessary.Must have a valid driver's license.Ability to develop and implement new ideas to market NC products in a creative way.Ability to show great attention to detail.Ability to handle multiple and diverse tasks.Ability to analyze potential marketing problems and determine appropriate course of action while communicating state guidelines and procedures to assist industry.Ability to function independently and communicate effectively with top level management.Ability to analyze marketing situations and industry needs and to creatively formulate plans of work to meet these needs.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations among food buyers, specialty food associations, retailers, producers, and the agricultural industry in general.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, crop science, animal science, horticulture, home economics or related area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Supplemental and Contact Information
