Job Description:

Our design team is a fast-moving group of hustlers that build and analyze to drive outcomes – not to burn meaningful hours on academic exercises. That does not mean we don’t communicate clearly, dive deep, or document – it means that we do these things in service of the result we’re chasing . We are more startup than we are corporate – but we do believe in strong mechanisms that drive high bar design – like bar raiser meetings, innovation days and more.

In this role, you will be a leader in designing a massive product or a portfolio of products that drive dramatic impact to the P&L of Copart. You will be working with our product management, business, and engineering leadership to achieve high bar outcomes. You are an expert in crafting deep, engaging customer experiences, storytelling and debating, and collaborating across multiple teams to build a unified experience bearing a high standard for your craft. Though we do not expect people in this role to have direct technical education, they must be deeply comfortable working with, and challenging, technical partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute design initiatives to respond to both user needs and business goals – balancing both for the benefit of the organization.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of designers, product managers, engineers, researchers, subject matter experts, copywriters, legal, and executive leaders.Share knowledge and educate stakeholders about our design process and best practices to optimize our operations and elevate our organization.Leverage and contribute to an existing design system to ensure consistent designs across our web and mobile applications.Understand and document user research findings and iterate designs based on feedback.Lead and showcase design vision and get buy-in from key stakeholders.Deeply understand the needs of our customers through quantitative inputs.

Required Qualifications:

An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience.6+ years of product design or user experience design experience.Track record of proactively identifying and driving initiatives that strengthen the team.Proficiency in design, prototyping, and creating User Flows in software such as Figma.Experience working across multiple platforms (e.g., products, websites, mobile apps, etc.)Ability to communicate abstract design concepts visually and verbally in a clear and engaging manner.Ability to think at 20k feet and operate at 20cm.A deep commitment to craft & product excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Design Thinking methodologyFamiliarity with Object Oriented UX conceptsTechnical knowledge on HTML, CSS, Native mobile OS patternsFamiliarity with Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
